Ok Missing, you know better than Cryptic, just like you know better than Turbine. No sense in conversing with those who are just gonna sit at a computer and play Monday Night quarterback all day.

The way I see it, if you don't like a game, you move on. It's really that simple.

Back to the game for me.

I'm in the beta, and the first screen tip I get when travelling through the first portal (door to sleeping dragon bridge) is an ad about buying consumables in the store, LOL. Will it never end?

And the game begins with you standing on a shipwrecked shore that was apparently attacked by a dracolich, and you have to talk to an NPC standing on the shore and "use aswd to move". Then you collect items out of broken crates on the beach. The scene with the shipwreck and NPC is far too familiar, minus the ice.

Same thing like a lot of stuff for defense. All ownership and rights are Raeython's even though they may hire an army of contractors out of ManPower to do the work.
Agreed. And asking any developer to put their neck out could also invite a chat with HR Officer Friendly.

After seeing how they (Raytheon) ran things after I got out of the Navy and was back on the USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72) as a contractor...well, lets just say the mystery behind all those hotel load circuits that rarely conformed to prints was solved.

(They looked at me like I was a freak when I showed-up for the job and asked for prints in the zone I was working and installing transformers/running cables/installing circuits...basically I was told to just put it where it fit.)

Ok, I am still going to give this game a try once it hits launch, but this is just sad.

And both are back up again. Looks like beta is going pretty good overall, due to how many are in the game atm and playing. Most importantly, dev team is on it.

Yeah I was a bit ****ed when they decided to go with the beach beginning. After playing tho, I thought it was a great beginner area, much more action and much faster to get through than the borefest that is korthos.

Else pcgamer has some too, tho youll need to find a copy of the neverwinter pcgamer issue, or a friend that has it.

and imo the khyber forum was an appropriate place, the forum should be able to host anything the community of players on that server are about and what they are doing, and not be so vehemently against competition. The forum is filled with very off topic stuff all the time, but because its another mmo, people get all defensive, pfft. Theres a gillion mmos out there, certainly is room for one more.
Thanks Shade. I just got one about 5 minutes ago. The key registered as an EU key (no surprise from a German site) so I wonder if they have separate EU and US servers? I can't wait

    Default neverwinter...

Well I was just playin nw till it crashed. It is in beta and things like that are to be expected.

Runnin nw on my old pc and the graphics are not great, yet when playing DDO I have high settings running on my old pc and I get 60fps.

I play DDO with a gamepad which makes DDO just amazing for me, Neverwinter you have to use mouse/keyboard which i don't like.

Customization in DDO is superior to neverwinter since nw has cookie cutter builds.

I got to lvl 4 with a guardian ftr and the last mission i was on i had to go grocery shopping for an npc as a quest. i hate FedEx missions in mmos. In DDO we have them, yet they don't seem so intrusive to me.

The feel of neverwinter the city does feel like a forgotten realms city, music is key as well as the ambient sounds. I enjoy Eveningstar for DDO, it's not a huge city like neverwinter and it pulls off the forgotten realms feel for me as well.

I do hope that neverwinter is a success. competition is good.

Have to say neverwinter just isn't for me. I'll give it another shot after it goes live.

But I already know that I will be sticking to DDO as my goto dnd/rpg/mmo.

Typical of old games and new games, especially on an old pc. Did you set the game to your native resolution? You may see a big spike in graphics quality if you do... depending just how old your pc is.

sorrry but where is that dev team for all those having trouble getting in. So far my experience is CS for neverwinter is 500% worse than DDO.

Show me at some point in the history of that engine where Atari stated it was theirs and not Cryptic's please.

Good question. Yeah, it's been a struggle getting a few guildies in, I've had trouble as well on several occasions. All works out in the end though, and they've been on it like I said. They've also been pretty fair so far. Who do you know thats having trouble getting in. PM me, please.

Frankly, given the background of Cryptic I find that highly surprising. Is it possible they just haven't completed support for such yet?

Gamepads are buggy at the moment. That will definitely get cleared up.

They have gamepad support it just isn't turned on at the moment. Pretty easy to do since you only have a few buttons to use anyways.

Tried it for a few hours, nothing for me there. I didn't even like graphics . As much as recent changes to DDO suck, I can't see myself leaving it for this one - well maybe ESO later this year, although I prefer instanced questing to open world.
