I will one time. Just to get enough free shards to respec some feats without a lesser, or whatever else may be offered.

I was hoping for a system where you could buy items in the ddo store with shards. Hearts, xp pots, content, etc. If I would never have to buy points again, turbine could have thier 30%. No one would make a profit but we could get a signifcant real world savings for stocking the shard AH for them.

    I see it as a fool's bargain.
I think it'll be very popular despite my non-participation.

Just one more step toward leaving for alot of people. i stopped buyiong TP awhile back and I do not plan on using this service.

Buy TP at a bad rate, excahange for Shards at a worse rate to buy Eq from some guy overcharging trying to make up his differences (and/or greed) where Turbine then profits again by taking 40% from the seller... no thanks i'd rather get it myself or trade for Plat/items I have.

    Default Maybe...

Have a Torc on an alt that you don't play anymore?
Maybe you have a Mysterious Bauble you looted on a Fighter that you are wiling to part with.
Perhaps you have something that means little to you, but is currently BOUND to you that you would be wiling to give up for the right amount.

I see it being used to move bound items only. Considering the best items are usually bound, there could be interest.

These things cannot be placed on the shard house.

    Agreed.

And as far as putting EE items up on the ASAH, nope. I will GIVE them to Guild, friends, or party members before I would even think about selling them.

Yes, give them away. Like for free. Like I always have and always will continue to do.

It's totally true, I have a reliable source. You better reroll now.

Would rather have my precious plats, tyvm.
Oh didn't you notice the break the rules and be able to trade the already bound item character on equip if you use the ASAH?

I am sure that will change to already bound (without regard to BtCoE) soon enough.

Epic Tokens...pardon me..."Tokens of the Twelve"...are not hard to farm up or just accumulate, and can be turned in for Purifieds.

Same. I'll always offer it to guildies first, then members of the PUG second, then sell it as a last resort. That said, yes I will try the new ASAH and see what happens. If enough players end up using it, I might as well convert gear to shards since I can do a lot more with shards than plat.

Why would the exchange possibly make anyone consider leaving? I'm honestly curious since you don't have to ever use it if you think it is a waste of time or somehow abhorrent.

And why do anti-exchange arguments always seem to start with 'buy TP at a bad rate?' Why would anyone purchase them at a 'bad rate?' What does that even mean?

You know what would get my participation? If they allowed us to put up Shards and Seals.

Beyond that... I don't see me going into it.

Unless we could actually buy monthly subscriptions via ... Astral Shards. *grumble* great, I'm going to have to be careful lest some forum mod thinks I'm trying to buypass profanity filters. The singular of my short hand for Astral Shard is A$ after all. And the plural... I may have to start using ADs instead.

I'd buy that for an astral shard! But I'd prefer it if they would just make them unbound so we can sell them on the AH with scrolls. That, or offer a 3-1 turn in like the sands scrolls. Whatever is the least amount of effort for them.

Ok so I read it again. Ur right. They should make BoA items traceable this way if they want to make some money.

I'll try it out, but only with "used" gear that I've outlevelled.

I'll probably use it for disposing of nice gear that I've outlevelled too - especially stuff like low level gear with multi-effect prefixes & suffixes, which to me feels like kind of a waste to just vendor for a pittance of pp or crunch for cannith crafting stuff - probably just a fairly low shard cost so i can get something back & other people can get something handy.

Using it for moving stuff between alts seems handy too, but yeah gonna have to watch out for those snipers.
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was, now what's it is weird and scary to me.

Why? To earn shards which can be spent at overpriced crappy augments?
    No, thx.

To spend on gear on AH? Please, I can bet it will go for outrageus prices, and it will look like a wish list not a trade offer.

The way I see it is it is recycling. When I have outleveled my BtCoe items I put them up there and perhaps use those shards to buy something that benefits me more. Now if it did not have this option to sell bound items it would be total garbage and I am just going to use the traditional AH for regular unbound items.
