Default It is not you. It is them.

This game is messing up my 2 year old laptop with Windows 7 Dual pentium and 3GB ram,
and my old XP P4 3.o ghz with 2gb at different times and in different internet locations.

One or the other might be my side, but both starting after U17 is them. The hot fix helped a little. This was the worse possible time for the Cove after a major update.

Happy Birthday is turning into a funeral for DDO.
Your lack of healing amp not my problem. Please buy and use your own remove curse pots in combat, so I don't waste mana. Not my job.

unfortunately any complaint made is always swept under the rug as trolling or harassment so nothing is ever fixed around here. making any post that is not what people consider to be the norm will get you loads of neg rep and harassed. everyone's like screenshots or it never happened well i can make fake screens all day that proves nothing not to mention why do you have to prove anything to other forum members they do not work for turbine they cant do anything to help.

Vague posts with no information don't get any attention except by people who come to the forums to tell you to stop complaining.

You didn't include a time of day, location, server name, process you used to determine lag, screen shots, traceroute etc etc etc.

How can you expect anyone to take you seriously? Also note that I have no lag when I play, so it's not a universal issue. This is why lots of info is needed.

While I have no doubt that events increase lag, that doesn't mean your rigs aren't partly the issue.

Things like the relatively low memory on the systems you have definately contribute to the problem. That's especially true if you are using graphics cards that use system memory.

Edit: and I'm not trying to be argumentative, as I said, I do believe there is more lag during events, however my personal experience going from 3GB of RAM to 8GB of RAM, with no other changes to the machine, turned the game from laggy at moderate resolution to very low lag at ultra high resolution.
