Default Make an LFG system to make finding groups easier?

hi all, i have not read many of the other suggestions in this forum..so if it has been suggested before and i didn't see it, my bad.

has anyone suggested making a lfg system where it would be much easier to forum groups? i love this game alot but im just playing casual now and no guild and im leveling my 3rd tr cleric and it is such a pain to just find groups in the group system we have now.

i know it may not be popular..just throwing it out there.

    thanks all

I'm confused. Your post is confusing. It makes it difficult too give a good concise reply.
If your lfm's are equally vague I can see where perhaps your grouping problems lie.

What are your issues with the current system?
How do you think it can be improved?

I always suggest to other game developers to make a group finding system like DDO. I hate how other games just push you together with random people.

The current lfm system is VERY easy to use. The problem is not the system, the problem is that players tend to not be willing to start their own groups and are sitting at their computers waiting for someone else to do it for them. You state you can't find groups, not that you can't FILL them, so I suspect a large part of your issue is that you are one of those players.

Just checking that you are talking about the social panel that opens when you type 'O' here? What would you like to see? Could it be that there is just not enough of a server population such that there are not many groups your level?

Only thing missing in the LFM system, IMO, is checkboxes for various common playstyles e.g. 'Exploring everything', 'Speed-focused', 'Prefer people with experience', 'Newbie-friendly', 'Sticking together' or 'Splitting up'.

Add in a filter so you can only see LFMs that fit your chosen style and the system would IMO be perfect.

Eh, I don't use LFM's much but I think it's a pretty nice system overall. If I was to make a suggestion it might be nice to have an audible ding when a new LFM is created that supports your level/class. This ding option is toggleable of course.

Or a message goes to your chat window when a new LFM is created for your level/class. "LFM created by DrSoap for quest 'Against the Demon Queen'."

This would be interesting, as long as it is limited somewhat (I don't want a ding when the 11th 23-25 group goes up).

The system works great if people take just the tiniest bit of responsibilty for their own enjoyment.

You don't see an LFM you like? Fine, POST ONE yourself.

    Real simple system...works well...

The LFM design is generally acceptable it has a few minor annoying things it like to do but still. User error of the LFM system tends to be the biggest problem improper posting and other players failing to read and understand what it says.

As noted, what you are asking for directly already exists and is simple to use. If you are asking for something else, you'll need to be more clear about what it is that you specifically want.

LFM is good, just 1 upgrade needed would be a search function in quest list coz sometimes i lose a lot of time scrolling and searching just coz don't remember the exact name or lvl. Maybe a location filter can help.

huh? you can already. I think you right click it or something. Not in game and haven't reported anyone for ages but one of the good things about this game is how easy it is, should you need to, report someone and the fast response. You could just report anyone you see blatantly abusing the system this way. Usually I just send a tell saying "Um, you might annoy people with that lfm as you're not meant to use the lfm system that way. Have you tried using x/y/z instead for what you need?". If they're snarky about such a tell I might wait a while before thinking about reporting. But I suspect from when they usually disappear a short time later that someone else has reported them. It's not like I (and most likely others) didn't warn them

/Completely agree. This doesn't seem that difficult to implement, and seems like it would help people find like-minded people to group with. I've suggested the same thing more than once. To your list, there should also be a "first time" option for running quests a first time.

my suggestion: Allow to join whole group into other group. I have group of two players and i wish to join this group to another group (and my group should be accepted as one entity). Currently, only way to join group is to break current group and join each character and to hope that leader will accept both characters or his group will not become full due requests from other characters.

I wouldn't mind if the description text window were doubled. Sometimes, when I solo a quest and would like joiners for free chests, or joiners to help me pull a particular item, there isn't enough room to write a good explanation.

I also wouldn't mind a more detailed "desired classes" list, like being able to ask for 2 of FvS/Clr.

I also would love it if when you select a Raid from the quest list, that the party is automatically created as (or converted to) a Raid group.
