PC: Motu XP Stone

I've got one of these hanging around in my bank. Are these worth anything at the moment?

Particularly could I trade this - plus something - for one of the new holiday box stones?

Well It's nice to hop from lvl 8 to 16 but the majority of ddo players alredy used one. And selling a gift, meh, I don't know. Anyway, I Might be wrong.

Actually wasn't exactly a gift - you needed to have purchased MOTU. For example my (pre motu) alt account didn't get or use one of these stones.

The stone may have greater utility for someone else than it does me sitting in my bank. Haven't searched the market very hard, so I'm not sure if any of these sold at all. Although I sure I recall seeing some motu stone trades in /trades.

If it doesn't then it will continue to sit in my bank, may have a friend/guildie ask to use it or maybe eventually be used on one of my alts.

Also, someone may have not used a the motu stone and want to offer an item for it. I think these stones may be traded, unlike the holiday stones. So someone could also buy it and bank it.

Players who purchased Menace of the Underdark and were level 16 or higher were eligible to receive Stones of Experience from a special NPC, Braddack Bouldershoulder, in the Harbor near the Marketplace entrance.

You had to do something to get the stone, it wasn't part of the motu package that dropped into your backpack.

You needed to talk to a special vendor in the Harbour near the market gate. They were not auto-sent into inventory.

There have been several reports that these stones do still work.

Whatever the case, if I made a trade and it didn't work then of course I'd offer a refund. Note the motu stones, still would not work for characters with any Druid levels.

They still work if they are used from the account they were originally given to, and if the character it is used on hasn't had another character on that account use one.

So basically, if you have an Alt account that had a lvl 8 lowbie and you didn't use it, you can use it on that one, but only from the original account it was received on.

I guess they are not directly tradable now. Thanks for confirming that. I semi-recalled trading a stone or two for guildies to used when they first came out.

I tried to use one of mine on a person who asked for one.

it did not work.

No error message, just did not work.

No idea if the person had previously used one on his account or not.



(and BTW, he asked in trade to buy one, I offered mine for free)

Incorrect. Confirmed upon release of Ottos by a dev that MotU stones that still exist now work just fine (using the old stoning rules, not the new ones)

Lots of folks still have stones laying around from MoTU. They will stone you for free, just like back when the stones came out. All you have to do is ask in channels or chat. I still have a few and I'd stone someone for free.

The ones that someone how didnt get destroyed by turbine will work but still have the limitation of one per account per server.
