Smile Help with Necro FVS please!

I am looking for some help please! How can I get more Necro DC? (preferably without destroying my BBs and light spells too much)

I have 1 cleric and 2 FVS past lives (now on my third FVS life. Preferring not to TR any further, so that puts Wiz past life bonus out of the picture. Not keen to lose all my ED xp...)

I am now fully capped out on my destinies and using Exalted Angel with Piercing Spellcraft +3, Necro +3 and a +1 wis slotted

My Epic feats are Necro and Wisdom. I have Necro spell focus and Greater spell focus (along with all the usual feats, including spell pen)

Standing I have 50 wis (from +3 tome, all level ups in Wis, +8 item, +3 insightful, +1 Exceptional). Ship buffs and Pot takes me to a pretty continuous 54 Wis = 50 Necro DC with Items

    Main Items:
War wizards amulet, bracers and robe
    +8 Wis googles
+3 insightful Wis from planar focus
+1 exceptional Wis from TOD ring
Staff of the necromancer +3 Necro bonus
    I have only a +3 wis tome (swapping a +4 dex on Thelanis btw :P )

Im not after any short burst buffs, Im interested in standing buffs! Any help appreciated!

Looks like you have most stuff covered.

You said you have Greater Spell Focus, do you have Epic Spell Focus?

If you move your +3 Insightful to another slot, you can add in Litany of the Dead for +1 more Wisdom (or free up your Great Wisdom feat for Epic Spell Focus).

Get a 1-handed weapon with +3 Necro DC instead of the staff, and put an Alchemical with +2 Wisdom on it in the other hand for 1 more DC.

Oh, and +4 tomes (or +3->+4 upgrades) have gotten a lot less rare than they used to be. A bit of grinding or shopping is in order.

Yea the post above me is all I can think of, you pretty munched covered it all; TR is about the only other thing.
I feel at home in the darkness, when its just me and my blades...when the hunter takes over!

I have a Necro-specced Cleric, and you've all but covered it, except for +2 WIS you'd get from a Monk splash.

(By the way--- you don't lose ED XP when you TR)

I was actually laying in bed last night thinking about this. This is what I came up with, but mind you- it was 2am, so it may be missing a few things here and there.

    Wisdom Calculation

    18 Base
    5 Heroic Level ups
    1 Epic Level up
    8 Item
    3 Insight
    1 Exceptional
    1 Profane (Litany)
    5 Tome
    3 Cleric/FvS WIS enhancement
    1 Human WIS enhancement
    2 Monk stance
    1 Epic Wisdom (feat)
    6 Wisdom (Exalted Angel)
2 Wisdom Twists (Could do 3, but it would be silly to miss out on +3 DC from Magister
    twist.)
    2 Ship Buffs
    2 Yugo Pot
    61 Wisdom

(Can get higher with Abishai cookies, Bard Inspire Excellence (adds +2 to all stats), Store pot, House D pot, etc....)

    10 + Spell Level + Casting Stat Modifier + Items + Feats = DC

    So...

    10 + 9 (with Heighten) + 25 (modifier) + 3 (item) + 3 (all Necro feats) + 3 (Magister Twist) = 53 DC

Now, here's the question-- how high do you want it, and why? I'm only up to a 48 DC because I'm in the process of farming out some gear, but I do **** good on both EN and EH. EE drops my success rate sharply if I don't Energy Drain, but then again... it depends on your skill, the group and the quest, but you may be too busy healing to throw too many offensive skills.

I asked my husband who runs a 10xTR DC Wizard and he told me that people are still failing on EE with a 60DC. He said that the saves in Epic Gianthold are quite high, and that it would be difficult to get a no-fail Necro DC in that content.

Honestly, until they start realizing that Divines want to offensive cast. too (and give us better ED/Enhancement options), I think you'd be crippling yourself if you tried to get your DCs past 50. Then again- that's just my opinion.... you get to a point where you're giving up so much for just one DC that everything else starts to suffer.

    I hope that helps.

48 dc is around 70% effective for EH - GH CL 28 (around) mobs.

If by 70% you mean 90-95% than yes. My big orange skulls say otherwise.

Although perhaps we are targeting different mobs?

All I can say is that I'm pretty happy with my Divine's 48 necro DC for EH. EE is where it starts to become obvious that I need well above a 48 DC, although Energy Drain does help.

In my opinion, Necro is totally viable for a Divine, but that also depends on who you run with and what you're running. My husband is on a 10+ PL Enchantment Wiz-- throwing BBs in the middle of a disco party is pretty pointless. That said, I'd be more inclined to go Evo specced if they reduced the timer on Implosion by a bit.

Thanks Phalaeo thats a nice breakdown

I have 50 dc with 54 wis btw. I have been thinking of 2 monk levels, for saves and for more hp because with a pure human FVS with normal HP gear I am at 500 hp, which just isnt enough for EE.

The thing I would be trading in is my capstone searing light which does a TON of damage for me, especially with rebuke foe running and fully pumped light damage buffs.

Twist wise, I would also find it hard to pull out the +3 Spell pen twist for another wis twist, although if i could get wis high enough, spell pen becomes moot

I have farmed until my fingers bleeds! And there are no tomes on the Thelanis AH (maybe other servers are better stocked with tomes). I manage dto trade for a +4dex, but no one has a +4wis they are willing to trade
