New starter pack, with perm hireling?

This was a perfect opportunity to introduce another non-player race hireling.

YOU SHOULD HAVE MADE THIS A KOBOLD SHAMAN HIRELING. And given it some Kobold lines. It would have sold like hotcakes. But you didn't, and now you've lost billions of dollar's worth of Kobold Kredits.

As long as it made a snarky remark about how gimp the player being healed was I would buy it.

At level, catacombs is decent for xp and favor, similar to water works. But just like water works the rewards are mostly meh.

For those of us that have been around for awhile, you are correct about the rewards. But, I still remember my first ever completions of Water Works and Catacombs, I was thrilled with the choices of rewards. It's really just a matter of perspective.

Catacombs End rewards WERE much much better than Waterworks before Update 17 {Both have received boosts so probably still better}.

Probably too late, but how feasible is it to have the system mail the hireling contract instead of it magically appearing in your inventory? It's a little thing, but would be nice.

Not that feasible, IMHO. Sure, old pros can zip through the Grotto and go straight to Stormreach in less time than it'll take me to write this post, but newer players who don't know they can talk to Mari and skip the entire storyline won't. And may well spend copious amounts of time on Korthos, long enough for a mailed contract to expire and disappear.

Or, for that matter, simply people who don't log onto a character for a month. I know I have characters I haven't played in forever who would want this when I get on and say "Hey, y'know, I think I'm gonna play that wizard who's been languishing forever and a day..."

EDIT: Also... forget a kobold shaman. They shoulda made it a gnome. Just imagine the reaction on the forums to a gnome hireling, from all the people who want a gnome PC... woulda provided fun reading for *months* to come!

Besides the list above, in one of the quests the no ML Battleworn Sword (+1 Ghost Touch Greatsword) drops. I have no idea if this item got a boost with the update, but I always carry that sword on very new/TR toon until I get something better to battle incorporeal mobs.

Every character can get it, Min level to use is 1, summon anywhere as per a gold seal, and permanent like the panther.

Will it fit in a hireling folder? I hope so.

Prolly be like the MotU panther - BtC, but every character gets one.

Thanks for the reply. I didn't get a pack with a panther, so I had no experience with it.
Normal hirelings won't go back in a folder once they have been used, so I wasn't sure at all.

If it's like the MOTU Panther, you can summon it and throw it back in the folder. As you said, normal hirelings can't do that, so it's one of the nice perks of the MOTU Panther.

with 100 plat you can get nearly 50 of these....... if they made a perm cleric hireling that scale to your level.. hell i will be getting it.. even if it cost 100 dollars..

Permanent hireling. It can die, but you can just re-summon it five minutes later and the contract never runs out. The Onyx Panther Figurine of Wondrous Power that came with the MotU Collector's Edition is a perm Fighter hireling in the form of a gigantic Fen Cat.

Its good with hair, coloring, tips, bleaching etc.

Also one of the biggest gossips of all the hires.
