    Default A real response, please

Reading through this for hours, at this point no questions have actually been answered, and the only thing we can do is troll through forums and hope for a response from a turbine employee that says something more than they are looking at it.

    - If we don't log in before the fix, will we lose outfits? In inventory? In mail? In AH? With no other information I have to assume at this point that I should not play until it's announced as fixed.

    - Can the fix/status be posted clearly somewhere instead of in a massive forum thread, so it's not so difficult to dig through it? Deleting items characters are using is a major problem, collection of items is one of the main aspects of the game. For those of us with outfits we want to keep, this issue is effectively another complete game outage, since no-one has answered whether items are already gone or not and no-one has answered if they will be replaced or we'll be compensated. This is a major bug and a major outage. You should be warning people on the launcher splash graphics not to log in if they have outfits, instead of advertising more stuff to sell us. Why should we buy stuff if it's just going to get wiped out? I've spent hundreds of dollars on this game over the last few years, but the kinds of problems we've had over the last few weeks are the kind that push customers away even when you have good sticky services.

We deserve better, someone needs to be addressing this in a large and visible way.

Just stay positive! I'm sure it'll be answered once they know exactly what it is that's causing the problem.

I don't even care if they have the augments or not, a Deathblock outfit of Radiance in a furry style is the best db item I've ever owned what do they think they're doing messing with outfits in our inventory. Couldn't they just add new outfits to random loot and named loot, I don't recall people losing their shields when orbs came out.

Devs do you plan to give us our stuff back or do u plan on giving us some sort of compensation (note: you can't compesate for this loss even with TP I mean what am I supposed to buy with it? The Sentinel's pack?)?

Just like them fixing the 'ladder feature' right, it's just nothing but a waiting game.

My monks crafted outfits are gone while its not that hard to re-craft them it is rather annoying on the random loot gen ones I had hoarded away, its kinda sad to see a whole bank page wiped out and know that the most we are every going to get is a kick in the a s s with a frozen boot from turbine. We most likely won't get a thank your or a phone call the next morning either.

Sigh... R.I.P all ye Deathblock, Heavy Fort, and GFL robes. Ye will be missed...

Seriously, I'll run around naked if you want me too, but Ima need some heavy fort over here. Feel free to stick it on my undies...

    Default You know....

....I would tolerate the continual mess ups and huge list of bugs new and old with each update if this was a new vibrant game that excited my mind but as it is it is an old game that long ago was new and intresting. At this stage in a game's life you should be through with all the bugs of growth and newness and have settled into a well tested and well thought through update and testing process. This game has NEVER matured to a stable reliable game even though it has grow dull.

as far as i have experienced, the largest part if not totality of my random gen loot outfits are gone from inventory, bank, tr cache. i suspect some robes too.

no named outfits or robes has been reported missing (which is good).

all my items (weapons, rings, gear...) with arcane/divine enhancement such as greater combustion / potency / etc are broken (<error string etc>)

chat box extremely hard to click, the toon attacks when i click on chat for entering text.

now: some of those random gen loot were EXTREMELY powerful and useful due to a lucky combination of powers and for sure they cant be replaced by anything else except those very items theirselves (i totally dont think i'll ever find some dblock outfit of superior false life +40 again or some +8 armored bracers of superior parrying just to make a couple of samples). they are not as strong as some epic/named equivalent loot but, you know, there are many levels to play before reaching ED levels and those were helping A LOT in many swap situations even when my toon was lev 25.

i still get the examination error message when i roll my mouse over the "empty" slot of my hotbar were the missing items were yesterday, giving it a bit of hope as, if the system understands there is something missing, there could be a trace left.

again, im upset as usual with this new update which, like too many others, has caused more harm than good to the game. my TRd lev 12 monk is extremely nerfed without my good old +4 outfit of greater warding (spell res 22 and +4 to all saves). still playable of course but that spell res 22 and +4 saves were the difference between soloing a quest with success / saving the day from a party-wipe and failing a quest. simple. (no, i dont care im gonna get free spell res on next level. at the moment i have no spell res and it bothers me a lot).

on the same line (and i think that here im not the only one playing this way) most of my builds are pretty sharped and based on some very specific gear interaction. losing an item would mean to nerf the build beyond repair. that said, i can dump the toon unless i get a +20 heart of wood which doesnt exist. yet.

so the questions stay will we get our items back / are they lost for good / shall one wait things to be fixed to log safely / etc etc, but there's a more important question here: "when will it stop this avalanche of updates, patches and hotfixes which are regularly adding stuff we dont really need urgently but causing massive harm to other things we do need badly because they are NOT tested before or tested so badly nobody sees they arent ready?" it's almost 3 years i play ddo and STILL myddo doesnt work, lotteries dont work, lag got worse, people are still missing mats and bags in shared bank, players/foes get stuck in walls and rocks and landscape elements, handwraps have problems, holy burst bonus from ToD rings dont stack properly, some spells dont work WAI, same is true for some feats, EDs, skills...

i am sure fixing one or two of the bugs we are carrying from years is much better appreciated than getting a new gianthold we cant play properly anyway.
I fail better than anyone else

I personally thank you Mizz. i am not logging in till patch. Instead of looking around for things I lost I will wait even though I am dying to see this. Thank you. I do not want to grind some stuff out again on some toons and you cant replace it with tp or all that. Thank you

ACtually Feather of the Sun already commented on this in another thread. He said it is already being addressed and asked people to be patient while they try to fix it.

    Just a quick question:

If I log into my monk, run a quest, get a new outfit and equip it, does it go buh bye when I log out and back in or does it stay? Has anyone tested this out?

    Thanks for any answer given!
    And remember, stay positive!

Had a spare low level character with a splash of Monk (lvl 4 char), so I've just logged on that character to test things out.
    My notes:

    - as others have confirmed, named outfits have not disappeared (including the low-level "disciple's robe" that veterans get if they choose "monk equipment" during character creation).

    - he had on a randomly-generated outfit, which was still showing on the character select screen. Upon logging in, the outfit had changed visuals into one of the newly-designed robes (the silvery skin-tight one, with swirls on it), yet the item had itself gone missing (so he was technically naked, although visually he wasn't).

    - I quickly ran a few harbour quests for outfit drops/rewards. They seemed to work fine, and I can confirm the old furry outfit is still obtainable.

    - checking the AH, there is about a 50/50 split between outfits that are bugged, and those that seemed to work (and were purchaseable). Unsure if they were new outfits just put up, or older ones that somehow made the transition to the new models successfully.

So, for what it's worth, if you're going to simply be missing generic items such as a Deathblock outfit, I'd probably log on and work on farming for a new one (or looking on AH for newly-generated outfits with Deathblock on them).

If you have any really good randomly-generated outfits that you don't want to risk losing, then I'd probably stay off that character for the time being, since there's been no word on whether or not the items are recoverable :/

*sigh* back to waiting and seeing.

    Default Thanks for fix

In all sincerity thanks for getting a handle on this now (preventing further item losses) and getting it explained. Also thank you for recognizing that an automatic fix will need to be applied to players that lost items, rather than having individuals all go through customer service tickets to restore items.
