Default New Player Looking for Healing Build

Hello everyone, looking to get back into the game. I am looking for a 28pt healer build.

That being said, I really don't want to play a complete healbot. Any build where my healing will be sufficient to explore most of the group game content and still be able to do anything else at all (perhaps some offensive casting or melee capabilities).

Sorry if this is in the wrong place.

I think you need to be a little more specific

and if you are going pure I would post in spell caster section more clerics hang out there...

No one needs to make a healing build. Just roll up a cleric or fvs and kill stuff. Offensive casting clerics and fvs c an kill just as we'll or better than anyone else. The healing part is easy. These skills are not mutually exclusive. Don't hold yourself back.

Let's assume cleric as FVS is a P2P class

Healing and offensive casting go very well hand in hand. You just need to train your attention to avoid letting ppl die (first and foremost YOU, a dead cleric can't heal)

My first toon ever in this game (like 4 years ago or so) was a cleric, I had certain ideas from PNP and so tried to make a Codzilla... well it's not so easy here without divine metamagic and with lots of different things.

Allow me to recommend playing Human, that extra feat can come in handy for versatility purposes and first life and the following stats

    Str 10
    Dex 8
    Con 16
    Int 8
    Wis 18
    Cha 8

Low cha will be fewer turn undeads and less powerful but anyway turn undead is not that big unless you build specifically for it (trs and gear and being something very situational...) turn undeads later in the game are used for healing bursts which are really cool but quickly you will also get the chance to get more via cha items and the ability to regenerate turn undeads that comes from the prestige.

Dex and Int are going to be a dump stats. Not very useful anyway for you.

Skills you will need to top concentration, put some points in balance, tumble (specially if you dont use heavy armor), jump.

High wisdom is very expensive for a 28 pointer but the dc's for bladebarrier and implosion and healing undead require it.

All the level up points into wisdom.

    Feats:

Level 1: toughness / mental toughness (might come in handy while you learn how to manage sp)
    Level 3: Empower healing
    Level 6: maximize
    Level 9: Quicken
    level 12: Heighten
    level 15: Spell penetration
    Level 18: Greater Spell pen

Some clerics dont take quicken... those usually wipe whole raids :3 failing a spell due to concentration is not an option when you want to win (concentration is important even so because of scrolls).

The build is not perfect but it's going to be fun... allowing you to throw destruction / greater command / blade barriers / implosion and heal also.

Changes I would make: drop the spell pen feats and take evo focus feats. And get empower instead of mental toughness.

This is my take on a caster-oriented cleric.
Semi-retired Build Engineer. Everything was better back in our day. Get off my lawn.

I would do this except 16 Wis and more everything else. I would also probably go 14 Con for the same reason.

I always make clerics with spell pen feats rather than DC because by far your most devastating attack of those spheres in difficult content will be Energy Drain, and in easy content it doesn't matter.
