Suggestion about loading screens

Hey turbine, I love how you advertise adventure packs while the game loads. What I don't understand is, why you advertise to me packs that I already have? I'm sure it won't be too much of a trouble to have a player profile check that when you log in (not during the loading screens which would increase the time).

It's called targeted advertising I think.

PS While you're at it, please fix the abbot raid loading screen too hello that's abbot not gianthold.

While we're on the topic, may I request less cleavage in the loading screens (dryads in particular) please? I get enough grief already trying to defend DDO to my wife...

I can't recall the exact directory, or even if they allow this sorta thing, but you can change the screens around on your own.

I recall hearing someone say that they have changed their own. But as I said, I'm not sure if Turbine allows such a thing. It's been a while since I've gone over the TOS and whatnot.

the files are located in X:\%install directory%\Turbine\DDO Unlimited\raw\en\logo
(swap x: for your drive letter and %install directory% for where you've installed the game, like C:\Games\Turbine... or C:\Program Files (x86)\Turbine... )

I never bothered to change/swap those and honestly don't know if it's ok with EULA/TOS but i sometimes visit the folder after an update to see what's up - since i might not be able to read the contence within the loading time

Also - since we specify the language or otherwise localize the game within ddo gamelauncher i was allways curious why every time there is an update to the game i need to download and install files not only for EN but also FR and DE :/
I'm sure that if the updates were selective (only downloading game data for your language) - it would improve bandwidth of the severs and populate the updates much faster - but maybe it isn't that obvious.

As for the downloading of other languages, I think it's mostly just for the sake of ease. It's easier to download the whole thing and let you decide your own language to use.
