Launcher not connecting

[Yellfor]

I had to reinstall Windows 7 and DDO.
Now when I start the DDO launcher it gets to the first part:

Connect Waiting

and that is all it does.

Same thing is happening with me. I decided to reinstall the game today after being gone a year. When I start the launcher, I just get Connect waiting. I am subbing 14.99 a month and will have to cancel if this is not addressed.

I finely got my DDO to work Thralgaf. But I had to use the CleanUninstall.exe located in the Turbine/DDO Unlimited folder. It turns out one of the *.DAT files was corrupted as the total in the DDO Unlimited folder, (minus the sub folders,) was off by ruffly 300,000 KB.

Silly me, I didn't think to keep track of individual files so I only wrote the total of the folder. Mostly, because I was curious about the totals of each folder/sub folder and didn't really think a fresh copy of DDO would work. Surprisingly it did!

%#$%@#$^ The login is just making me ANGRY (and yes that phrase makes me picture, and even hear, Marvin the Martian. 50 feet tall and stomping my computer and their servers in to the ground!)

My last post did work for me BUT after login and it updating it said it had to restart. Then it kept giving me the "can not be null" stream error. Tried some of the different fixes and just for laughs it went back to the " Connecting........Waiting" @#$#!

Uninstalled and started with a clean copy of DDO and know it keeps telling me unable to login as "Username or password is incorrect"! and I can't connect to support to find out just what is going on!

I am getting too angry with Turbine and their games! I will just have to uninstall ALL of Turbines games and cancel my accounts!

The Constant Guard firewall MAYhave DNDclient.exe blocked.

1) open the Constant Guard protection suite (may be in the 'hidden icons' of the taskbar)
2) > options
3) > manage my blocked program rules (under Additional Options)
4) enter PIN
5) find the Turbine exe, > allow

I had to do this after the update.

Actually, in the OPs case, his userprefernces.ini file was corrupted.
