How to CC EE Spiders on an Arcane?

Dancing Ball partially works on them, at least in Servants of the Overlord.

I really like the 'slow' them via Ice Storm / Solid Fog / Waves of Exhaustion / Slow idea.

Some other awesome ideas too.

And yep, I shouldn't have written 'all' spiders since I did know on some level that Fiendish Spiders and their look-a-likes aren't immune to mind affecting spells (and so are weirdly easier than their more mundane counterparts).

I use Electric loop for CC against the Spiders a lot on my Sorc. On an evocation based Draconic Air Savant its nice damage and stuns them with a 52 DC. You can usually wipe out a pack of spiders quickly with a Loop to stun, then Energy Burst and chain lightning; Lightning bolt or Dragon Breath anything left standing.

Prismatic Spray works really well too. Usually Instakills at least one of the spiders in a pack and can flesh to stone to CC. Use it with no metamagics on and its a cheap spell to CC and Instakill with. The Flesh to stone effect from prismatic lasts a really long time and theres no save against it from what I can tell.
