More than just forum mods are testing it. It is clear at this point that there will be very good UGC content available, and it even scales depending what level you are, so they can be rerun later with more challenge of course.

Now it takes some time to polish UGC content, but it very doable by someone with zero programming knowledge. You still need to get the hang of it tho of course.

I still say if the game play isnt good the UGC cant save the game and while I still havent played as they cant or wont fix my issue with my account I dont like what the videos of game play look like if they fix my issue I will try it if they dont I wont as I wont be able to trust them

As far as exploitation in UGC content, its going to be very hard to do the way they have it designed now. As of yet, its not exploitable. They have also said they have a team of GMs ready to take down content that is exploited as well as content that is offensive or has potential legal issues..

So it appears they have learned from the STO days and have built a new system that will be better supported. So far at least, so good.

I thought this same thing when I saw NW's Foundry. I don't know well it would actually work in practice. But the theory is right on. Putting the player in control often makes for an overall more pleasurable user experience.

Neverwinter Online is complete garbage...If you want Champions Online repackaged as D&D well that is what you have...Total garbage.

Well since COs only major flaw since launch has been a complete lack of real content developed to keep more then the die hard altaholics happy the fact from all signs the new revamped foundry on NWO seems to be the answer. In fact CO players are rabid on their forums towards NWO mainly because everything they have wanted and begged for on CO has been put into NWO including most money spent by players on CO.

The fact is DDO play isnt that great. Blocking here has become a joke and outside of raid tanks its rarely used anymore so giving the ability to all has proven largely a waste in design. Likewise our ability to move and kite has created more issue and exploit of content then anything else and frankly is largely silly as in RL running around and swinging a sword over and over would exhaust even the biggest and baddest swiftly. From judo to fencing I always heard the same thing from teachers, conserve energy, do not move needlessly, do not expend energy without effect, etc.

The fact NWO has you stick while attacking is imo a good thing, especially for PvP where it well help keep balance between ranged and melee centric builds. You allow free firing while moving you forever give the advantage to ranged dps. And yes imo PvP is a huge need in a D&D game. Players need the ability to challenge each other in quests over loot etc just like we did at the table top decades ago.

UGC from my pervious experience with City Of Heroes mainly showed tons of potential, and I have no doubt in time the foundry will become the single biggest addition to MMO players options of how to spend time, that it will indeed leave the core devs to focus on things like classes, feats, races, game play balance etc.

Honestly considering I am a huge RP gamer who loves playing RPG for the story, I have always found the so called story bites of lore in DDO a joke, and never have really felt motivated by being immersed in the story as a reason for being motivated. Back in CoH I felt that motivation frequently both from the actual content and much of the higher rated UGC to the point Id want to push through even the hardest moments. In DDO due to the lack of RP motivation it ends in as we have seen for years complaints about content design and balance.
