Waste of space?

Just looking at the monk abilities and at lv 17 he gets ............ Timeless Body.
Am I missing something? Could we please have another free choice instead of something that has no relevance to the game as it runs these days? Or put in another feat that might actually have some bearing on the game? Please

It exists in the Pen and Paper D&D game, so Monks in DDO get it as a "flavor text" type of ability.

It's almost never useful in Pen and Paper either, but when it is useful, it's huge.

We need more content that doesn't just have spiders.

Timeless Body will be useful against wraith mobs, etc. Also be aware that there are plenty of "flavorful" abilities that PnP classes get, i.e. monks and druids stop aging, monks get the ability to speak all languages, etc. that DDO could make use of in the way that they pepper some quests with social skill checks and lore checks.

Anyway, the game isn't perfect and I do wish there were more non-combat tasks but I do think the devs have made a visible effort to include some of those things.

The Truthful One would've been a neat place to make Timeless Body relevant but honestly monks are already in such good shape that it'd seem sad to kick all the other melees in the teeth again.

First thing that popped into my head when I read the op.

There are classes that have serious problems. And most of them have requirements for pointless feats too.

Monks may not be perfect, but they're light years closer to that goal than some. Be happy with what you have, Padwan.
