"Use Currently Equiped Scroll" button

I'm not happy with the way scrolls are handled. Right now you have to hotbar them, equip them, then use whatever hotbutton to activate the scroll. This means that if you want to carry a wide variety of scrolls, you need a lot of buttons, and it can get frustrating. Its especially frustrating if you want to have an off-hand item equiped.

For example: I have a Greater Necromancy Focus item I like to use with my scrolls of Finger of Death. This means I need 1 hotbutton devoted to equiping that item set(scroll and item), and another to actually activate the scroll.

What I'd like is a dragable "use scroll" feature that can be put on a hotbar and boung to a specific key, so one key activates the scroll instead of having to hit whatever hotbutton equipped it. If you use more than two scrolls, this should come in handy.

You only need 1 quickslot.

Click it once to equip, click again to use. Why do you think you need 2?

That doesnt work. Try it. When you have them set as an equipment set(such as if they were a sword and sheidl) it just tells you that equipment set is already equipped.

Plus that doesn't solve the original gripe: hotkeys all over the map, it'd be nice to just asign one button closw to WASD (shift+1, ctrl+1, etc) to activate whatever scroll you had equiped and not have to go to wherever you have that scroll button to use it.

You don't need to put it in an equipment set. Just drag the scroll onto a hotbar. One click will put it into your main hand; the next will use it.

As another poster mentioned, the greater necro item won't affect the scroll. Neither will spell focus/spell pen feats, enhancements, nor metamagics.

Why do you have to put it in a weapon set? There are no items that boost scroll DCs whatsoever, so if you insist that you must equip an offhand to increase its DC, you're completely wrong. I do believe there are enhancements that improve the scroll DCs, but no items.

I carry few sets with scrolls- because its the only way weapon buffs can be used.

So, you would rather have 1 button to equip the scroll and a completely separate button to activate it? No thanks, the current system works just fine.

If scrolls were treated more like ammunition than weapons, that would be perfect. As it is, I dont like that they occupy a weapon slot, while staves are being forced on us yet we cant use scrolls while holding one.
Further, we should be able to hold a scroll and a staff at the same time, provided we cant block or swing a weapon while using scrolls.

the only reason they wont do this, because lots of staves are essentially two weapons worth of enhancements and a scroll or other offhand item could be considered equipping 3 hands worth of items.
