RESOLVED, see below.

I've been away a few months and decided to log in today. The game downloaded the load screens, then on 'connect' it froze at waiting...waiting....it was several minutes before I got 'A connection attempt has failed.' I started the debug process, doing everything Here. I tried to connect at many times during the process with the same result. I also disconnected my router, tried ddolauncher instead of turbinelauncher, ran as administrator, disabled virus and firewall, but all were pointless.

As a last-ditch effort, I performed a clean uninstall/reinstall, but still get the same result (downloaded load screens, stuck at 'waiting' on 'Connect'). I've been playing since shortly after beta--and have had my share of problems over the years--but this one has me stumped. If anyone can help, I would really appreciate it.

I, like Agarwaen, have tried logging in again after a few months and am having the same issues. I have uninstalled and re-installed the High Res version of the client and I am still hanging on the "Connecting" section.

I noticed this issue yesterday, but thought nothing of it till I tried again today. If there is a problem, I am curious if this is a very recent development. I would like to reconnect and restart my account.

I have tried to connect with my notebook computer and it hangs when trying to connect as well. Same issue as my desktop. I am very, very confused.

A lot of people, myself included, have been having this issue recently. I got a new HDD the other day, installed DDO via steam, and had this problem. I saw a post or two about people with this problem getting around it by uninstalling the steam version and installing the ddo.com version with pando, so that is what I am trying now. Worth a shot at least.

Just connected through virgin mobile, and that doesn't work either. Hangs at the same point. Something is amiss, and I don't think it is on my end.

Wild suggestion:
1. in the DOS command prompt, type ipconfig /flushdns
2. change your DNS to Google's DNS: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

I'm up and running. I downloaded the newest standard res (v1.21) with Pando and that solved everything. It seems that the problem was with the DDO versions I was using (on both my computers) not being compatible with the current launcher. The versions were 1.17 and whatever version we had before update 16. All the fiddling with my firewall, .net, etc. was a big waste of time.

It looks like a whole bunch of people are having this issue.

I spent half the day today trying to help a friend with it. (Unfortunately, it's from a different root than a year ago when I encountered the same error - nothing in IE helped. [Though people should try clearing the cashe and making sure they aren't behind a proxy just in case.])

That being said, if reinstalling the game helped, hopefully a mod will come along and make this thread a sticky - any common problem that's found even a partial solution should have steps taken to ensure that other people can find the solution as well.

The version I am using (that is working), is 1.33. I hope your download solves your problem.
