Lose Chat server - and then time out.
Just wondering if anyone else on Thelanis is having the issue this evening.
If not, it will narrow down the field of what it could be.

I'm getting the same issue on Sarlona, and having severe log in issues too.
Just posted a thread about it on Orien ...... seems it's multi server.

Been like that for weeks for one of my characters - I've not played the others, so it could apply to them, as well.
Luckily, I don't group much, so it's been more of a nuisance than anything. Does kinda limit raiding, tho. Maybe we can add American Sign Language emotes in future releases.
On the plus side, I don't see all the gen chat drama... oh wait, we're Thelanis, we don't have gen chat drama
Has happened to me before and this is what i did to fix:
run msconfig /flushdns
run a program like cc cleaner
try again
I had the same thing happen to me on Khyber...even after the flushdns and cc...so I redownloaded...we'll see if that fixes it.
Actually you may have a port or firewall issue then if it doesn't fix. In which case go to my documents on the drive your game is installed and click user preferences (using notepad)....a few pages from the bottom you will see a line that says something like this:
User specified port = x
x being a number
try changing to 0, 9000 and 9001 in notepad then save
make sure your firewall is triggered to ask for your permission and not decide on its own
try logging back in and try those different values and see if your problem is solved with either of them
also if your firewall asked permission, allow it.
Hope that saves you a lengthy re-download.
