Default [RESOLVED]Launcher wont connect. stuck on waiting

So, i had to wipe and reload my partners PC with a fresh copy of win 7 (64bit) i installed all the drivers and thats all working.

i then downloaded steam and then DDO, it all installed fine.

i went and direct launched DDO from the turbine launcher using admin mode, and it tells me that i am missing .net 1.1 so i downloaded and installed that and its hotfix.

i then went to load it again all goes well it installed all the pre req software and then tried to connect,
now this is where im stuck.

it just sits on connect with waiting, i cant seem to get anything to fix it.

it worked before i reinstalled windows.

i cant for the life of me work out how to fix it. i tried all the fix's in the forums and nothing.

    please help.

    Hi guys,

I have unfortunately the same problem. I reinstalled a fresh Operating System on my computer (properly installed & configured for gaming ^^). When I launch DDO, I can see "waiting" when trying to connect to login server. Of course, I added an exception to my firewall !

    Thank for helping !

    EDIT :

i fixed the issue must be the steam version because i got the installer off this site and it ran fine.
I do not understand why the steam edition is not working "now". Another stupidity from Turbine ... One more after stopping translation !

I'll wait a few days to see if Turbine fixes the problem (AH AH AH AHHHH ^^). Otherwise, and with regret, I will download the edition from the official site.

    See ya soon

Sounds like a firewall permission problem to me.
That would be the first thing I would try if I were having that issue.
Move along , Nothing to see here

You're right t0r012 and logically this is the first thing I checked !

Unfortunately, many others players have the same problem since some days if I refers to the DDO forum on Steam. The only real working solution is to uninstall the steam edition of DDO and to reinstall the official one. I've never had a particular problem before and my knowledge are generally sufficient to solve this kind of issue but Turbine (the devs) can explain me why the game version from the official site is working ... and not preinstalled stuff from Steam ?

Thanks for your help t0r012. I'm currently in downloading the files in using Pando in hopping that will allow me to connect on server !

Had the same issue. But a fresh dl of the installer and making sure the firewall was letting the game through got me fixed up.
