Default Leader should have to confim OK for someone to RE-ENTER quest.

Maybe this is just a raid thing, but I run Tempest Spine a lot and it seem that many people claim to know the way up the mountain when really they dont know jack.

Twice in the last week we had re-entries because someone didnt know the way up and didnt ask for help. I think it would be nice if a confirmation box popped up say "PlayerX would like to re-enter this quest". I have run quests where it has been necessary and the XP hit was acceptable.

20% loss i think. Ouch. 11 other people really mad. Too far in to restart.

It's a TINY XP loss that people massively overstate.

First time elite TS with onslaught, full bravery streak, vandal (not ransack) and 10% trap bonus (with deaths and reentries) is 280% base XP (and 260% for an individual with a single reentry).

    Without reentries, it's 290%. Less than 4% more. (Hard streak it's ~5%, normal ~6%)

The thing that really makes me laugh is when fools wipe 2/3rds of the way through a long quest (say bravery elite DQ1) and restart to avoid a trivial penalty when they could just reenter and save 10-15 minutes for the loss of merely 2-3k XP.
    I don't have a zerging problem.

    I'm zerging. That's YOUR problem.

A group that wipes before the queen in DQ1 probably won't complete anyway.

It is a trivial loss of xp to each individual, though I tend to think collectively, and it does bother me that one person can cost the group a combined 20-30k.

I think it's a good idea. It also wouldn't hurt to give the re-enterer a pop-up that tells them they will take a reentry penalty and ask them to confirm that they want to reenter.

For many newbs, reentering a quest is a way of life while they are learning the game and they don't always realize the impact it has on XP.

I've seen several people dropped from Tempest Spine for recalling and they were shocked that anyone noticed or cared. TS is the first real raid most newbs do (no one does Chrono at level anymore) and unless they speak up about being new, they tend to make a lot of mistakes, including recalling and reentering to hide the fact that they got totally lost.

I feel this is a social issue rather than a development issue. I don't think it's a good idea to give players "power" over other players.

If you dont want them back in, Boot them.

If you are not noticing that people are dying, releasing, and re-enetering, you are not a very good leader....

When they leave the quest boot em before they can get back in. Problem solved with minimal fuss ( well they may fuss but ignore is there for a reason )\

This ^ They are outside the quest - same effect. I DO think the re-entry drama is overstated; but if it means that much, the leader can kick them.

Also, from a tactical perspective I can see where in higher level content this could become an annoying nag screen right in the middle of a fight. If the leader's engaged knee-deep, the popup could easily cause lack of mouse focus or even a distraction while trying to allow the player back in. As annoying as the ship disembark message is, think about what it'd be if you're cc'ing a dozen mobs when it popped up.

Or.... you could not leave people behind.

Even Tempest Spine's next-to-useless map will show when someone is not inside the mountain.

HP bars are another sign that someone is in trouble and needs help.
