    Question Shillelagh

As the title says I have a little question regarding this 1st level Druid spell.

When I cast Shillelagh on an Epic Quarterstaff (like this 1): http://ddowiki.com/page/Item:Stout_Oak_Walking_Stick

Does the 1(W) act as a 2d6 or as the description says 1d6?

When I cast it on my Walking stick it bumps my 2[2d6] to 3[2d6], so an extra 2d6 damage. With dance of flowers twisted in and as Leg Dread my base walking stick damage should be 5[2d6] = 10d6. Lay waste or Momentum swing bumps to 20d6 base damage dice. Nice little fireball bat it is.

Yeah, quarterstaves have the best attacking animation. I agree XD

Don't you however not get glancing blows on cleave/great cleave/momentum swing with staves?

that is correct. they are the only weapons that do not get proper glancing blows on the cleave type of attacks.

i suppose it's a matter of perspective. so long as quarterstaves continue to be bad on their own, they'll continue to make awesome named quarterstaves to compensate. have you checked out some of the named quarterstaves in this game? for their level, they've got some pretty cool abilities. and the only weapon other than quarterstaff which you can get a unique stacking speed increase to that i'm aware of are throwing weapons.

as an added benefit, if cleave spam doesn't get glancing blows, that's 3 feats you don't have to buy. gives a heck of a lot more room in terms of what you want to add to a quarterstaff build; probably one of the few non-fighter builds that can fairly easily fit in overwhelming critical without giving up some essential feats.

My horcrobat build could fit Whirlwind Attack, Overwhelming Critical, and Improved Critical with enough room to buy toughness too. Not having to worry about glancing blows have this kind of advantage.

Also, I'll save some twists from dodge, since I have around 20% dodge naked. Just need to add a dodge 2 and 3, and I'm dodge capped.

I want DDO to be a better game. Those are my personal suggestions on: Ammunition, Archmage, Combat Stances, Deities, Dispel Magic, Epic Destiny Map, Fast Healing, Favor, Favored Enemy, Half-elf Enhancements, Monk Kensai, Monk Stances, Past Life, Potency, Potions, Ranger Spells, Summons, Tiered Loot.
