I can say with 99% surity they don't spawn on EN.
I had a bad day of it in EN and my panther had to finish off Raiyum as I lay watching.
Took a couple minutes, and no wraiths spawned.
As for the rest of the thread - I'm glad to have a heads up to stay clear of EH in there.![]()
At it again - First Room and upper perimeter cleared (Seal of the Turban again - seems to be a pattern forming there), First Tower (Hami) done - Two Rest Shrines depleted thus far. Outta lightning protection potions, so this is prolly gonna hurt.
Huh, the lower perimeter ambushes respawned - who knew?
Second Tower down (Hafez). Shield wand's broke so skele mages are eating me alive with magic missiles. Albus just discovered he can cure disease... but won't do so for himself :\ Burning another shrine.
Gahhh! Owned again after third wave of wraiths. But sitting there as a soulstone, I noticed - they time out and return to their plane automagically... maybe 20-30 secs. Dunno how to use that little nugget, but ah well.
Wait... posted an LFM - OMG WruntJunior to the rescue! This might work.
Thanks to wruntjunior, we're done - Crazyfaye as well - thank you very much!

ahaha, glad you had fun?
i remember solo'ing that on my repeater build too
pretty straightforward, until you hit those wraiths xD
i just take shelter on the alchemy stations until they go away and then go back to smacking boss around
PS: Greensteel RUINED the game! and you all know it!
less buffing, more nerfing!!!
to make it easier for those of you that wants to avoid me in game, all my characters are in "Bladesworn Mercenaries"
Hi,
I get the same feeling about my Bow of the Silver Flame as you seem to have about your slinger. Triple positive seems generally better except where DR is really high.
The Silver Flame weapons seem to shine most in a group against an undead boss with high HP. Like Abbot and Undead Sorjek. It's really nice when your contribution helps the melee types land some huge crits they may not normally see.
Thanks.
I figured it out yesterday after I quit for the night - it's the epic multiplier on [W] - makes a huge difference on crits as well as regular hits. So I rejiggered equipment +5 holy burst Repeating Heavy of superior heartseeker with Hand of the Tombs was nice; but I also swapped with that Acid (Corrosive, I think) of Disruption plus archaic. I chose which to use based upon how much room I had to hit target with runearm... lots of rom == archaic; narrow hall was tombs.

Interesting tid-bit, since y'all are talking about the silver slinger: I personally used Bow of the Silver Flame (would use the epic version, but I don't think the seal exists) just because it breaks DR (I refuse to spend the scales on a Pos3 when the Weaken Undead effect is as good as it is unless I'm about to TR, as a ranged character). I also really don't like seeing yellow numbers (I used to use eAGA instead of eSoS even on normal, just because of that). >_>
By the way, the way I deal with the wraiths is by running in a circle around Raiyum - you'll usually get several of the wraiths killed that way, and they'll otherwise have trouble hitting you. When he's dead, you can just finish off the remaining wraiths. Don't know how it is on an arty (and on a melee, I'd probably kill the wraiths if first solo, partially to keep up the blitz >_>), but that's how I do it on an AA.
Anyways, back to NWN2 I go. >_>

Holy crow. You're going to love the Shroud. It's full of all the silly antics that you could ever hope for and it's crazy fast to get the required ingredients now that people are Epic Destiny'd out the wazoo.
Let people know that you are new, listen to the directions given and follow those directions (i.e. don't attack the lieutenants that are already slivered when you are told to not attack them) and just ask someone to solve your puzzle for you on your first run. As long as you have Silver Weapons as a spell and offer that to people on the boss fight, you're all set.
Don't even be afraid of going with Elite as your first run. After you cast Silver on all of the weapons that people ask for, any DPS that you offer is just gravy.
EH they seem delayed. EE you get many waves of them. It may be that they are timed on both settings but on EH it is possible to burn Raiyum down before they spawn.
Raiyum is an absolute BEAST on epic elite. Was in there with a well above average group a while back and we must have had 20 deaths on the lich. On old epic you could just target the lich and spam Mass Heal (damaging the lich and healing all the melees that are beating on him) while someone kited the wraiths whenever they spawned, but on EE this doesn't work as his spells do too much damage, you are dead inside a Mass Heal cooldown.
One thing to remember: Dungeon scaling is brutal on this fight as there's so much undodgeable AoE damage and burst damage from Disintegrates. This fight is easier with 2-3 than it is with 6 on EE (IMO) as a Disintegrate save fail won't necessarily kill you.
I don't have a zerging problem.
I'm zerging. That's YOUR problem.
Ah yes the wraiths.
I have solo'd Wiz king on my PM many many times, (especially getting my ED XP) and always on EN. It's pretty easy to do with good XP and loot, so once i had maxed my ED's out i thought i would do it on EH
I mean i have done many other quests on EH without much difficulty, so 'hey it shouldn't be too bad!!!'
I always leave him till last, so cleared the other towers (did notice that it was significantly harder and was taking me longer than usual, but hey no biggie) Now off to kill the king.
Totally freaked when the wraiths spawned, was a major ***!! moment, stripped of all buffs, Aura gone so not healing (having to use bursts to stay alive) running around like a maniac.
As he is immune to both mage dots, i could only use firewall (minimal damage), fireball, black dragon bolt, and acid AOE's. of course running around makes him move so he was always moving out of the AOE's
Burnt though (at least) 5 pots in the end, but did manage to get him down. Was lucky i was a PM as the curses, neg levels (i assume he and the wraiths dish them out) would have killed me easily otherwise.
The second time was easier, as i was prepared for them, but still a really tough fight to solo.
But stick with it, you will get it done one day and the victory will be all the sweeter for it
Good luck your epic loot awaits you!!
'Live Long, Play Longer'
I had a similair experience on my WF fire savant a few weeks ago trying eHard without any previous experience of epic difficulty of this quest. I zerged through the rest of the quest much like I would have on heroic difficulties, then was thoroughly shocked as the wraiths appeared.
They mobbed me and did moderate but significant damage. Above all though, they gave me a healing curse that seemed to prevent even repair spells! There were some very frantic minutes with me running around screaming and cursing because I couldnt drink remove curse pots fast enough to keep myself heal-able. The wraiths could be killed with a little effort, but they respawned fast enough that it was very tricky getting the lich put to rest and I had to use his leash to get the wariths by themselves at one point before I could collect myself and go back in to finish the job with iirc about 75hp and 10 sp left when he was finallly defeated!
All in all the most fun I've had in any quest on eHard, and it makes me sad that the end-fight has been removed on eHard A Small Problem. If anyone has more tips on smoother strategies for handling the wraiths I'm all ears!
This is pretty much how eWiz-King went for me too. Ran EN with a hireling and figured EH would be doable just take a little bit longer. But those wraiths appeared and owned me.
But I ran into the wraiths in a tower hallway, I never even reached Raiyum or a djinn. Is this a rare occurence?
Actually, Raiyum is immune to Firewall and Fireball due to their spell level. Nothing below 5 works on him.As he is immune to both mage dots, i could only use firewall (minimal damage), fireball, black dragon bolt, and acid AOE's.
Kobold sentient jewel still hate you.
EE rayium is really a challenging fight, only done it twice since MotU, one with a group and one solo.
When I did this the wraiths spawned right away and just a little bit after I killed the first wave they came back again.
At some point DDed out to get the last shrine. When I headed back in the wraiths did no spawn again.
So this mechanic might be a bit random...
And his disintegrates are pretty insane. With a 51 Reflex save and evasion I still failed pretty much all of those. But 800HP are enough to survive one (at least solo, dont know how much harder it hits in a full group).
