DDO launch help 2013

Hey,

I recently bought and installed DDO from a DVD BEFORE I knew that you could download it for free (oops).

I installed it and it just simply won't launch the game. I added files to the firewall but there were not the 4 I read about on the support page.

Sometimes it connects but when it gets to the update stage it gives me an error and has to close the game.
(I think my game may be an old version before the game was made free . . .)

My question is: Should I uninstall the game and download the DDO unlimited or can I make it work with what I have? I only bought the DVD because I didn't want to download the huge file, etc. I knew you could download it but didn't know it was made free but anyway.

download the newer one and try again.

Also you may want to run ****_cleaner to clean out your registry just in case.

Wow! I didn't think there were any hard copies left in the wild for purchase. That's got to be at least six years out of date.

To answer your question; yes. Download and install it. If you could get the DVD copy to work, it would take just as long at downloading all the updates as it would to download a newer version. You can also install it from Steam is you have access to that.
