For clarification purposes, without the implied bitterness above, both Aces Over Kings and aok are still around and doing well. Aces has been flawlessly rebuilt, moving steadily towards that final guild ship at 85. New guildies have brought a lot of talent without all the griefing and mischief of the players that were previously in Aces. As for aok, I hear they are doing well also and were able to purchase a high level guild with a ship for some plat and rename it to aok. I found it very flattering that while they had the opportunity start fresh and establish their own identity, that they would use the nickname held by the parent guild since creation in March of 2006. Sort of like the Boston Bruins and the Providence Bruins.
Anyway it is great to see guys like you, Eaux, and Don returning to the game. Feel free to hit me up in game if u ever need a group.
Its nice to see that having 99% of ones guild leave has had a positive effect on your attitude sir. Hopefully this change applies to those who served and are actively serving in the military, your former attitude which prompted the mass exodus was not popular. It is also refreshing to see and hear that any gender issues you formerly had have been ammended, affirmative action at its finest welcome to the 21st Century Aces! I must say was quite surprising to be booted from a Storm Reaver raid involving Ace's members simply because of my new guild tag AOK given the positive well wishing you have, it was further disappointing receiving negative messages in private tells after the incident. What was not surprising I suppose was seeing the raid suddenly regroup in the tavern outside the quest to restore Hit Points and Mana, hopefully things went better the second time, I was not there to witness as I had changed characters to solo the raid... those Storm Reaver upgrade tokens are nice to have.
As to the ship of AOK it was not purchased, it was one of several donated (I believe we have 3) by a well wishers pleased to see that so many grew tired and decide it better to give up millions of renown and keep the roster of fun loving rowdy players intact and actually see several old members on break return to join us despite recruitment efforts of other guilds. Its a great feeling knowing it takes less than a year to get back to where we were and still maintain ones integrity. Also it was nice retain our private chat channel so our friends in other guilds could remain in contact with us. Its the little things that make life worth living isnt it!
The most interesting thing came to light when a former guildy came back, it turns out that all the 2010 football pool Platinum and FRDS thought to be stuck on his good friend and guildy's account while he was on break was actually left in the safe keeping of his guild leader at the time of his departure so that the winner of the pool could get their rewards. I wonder whatever happened to all that loot?
Anyways congrats on the new recruits, I have played with several of them and they couldnt have found a better guild to join given their playstyle and ability, its a perfect fit!!

It breaks my heart to see it come to this,I have a lot of love for peeps in both guilds.
I would hope that the two parties would avoid public titty pulling contests and maybe settle things in game.
"Time heals all wounds" so on & so forth.
I still have access to all my toons I can strip the plat off all of them and mail it to whoever won that pool, just send a PM.

We're not just ok....We're AOK!
Officer of Aces over Kings
I wouldn't worry about it too much, there isn't really any ill will toward Aces from AoK. We just had one issue in Aces Over Kings that we couldn't remove so we removed ourselves from the issue. Now we have a slightly different guild name and the same group of people that were playing together anyway.

For the most part the 2 factions do get along. I form and run 99% of the raids Aces do and i always accept and run with the AOK guys with no issues to speak of. A few others in Aces do avoid and/or refuse to run with anyone bearing the AOK tag but not under Alex's orders he encourages the 2 guilds running **** together at times even. There is some bad blood still there is no doubt about that but we are still adults and this is just a friggen game most of us wont ever really meet each other hell i live maybe 30-45 min from alex and the chances of us ever meeting irl are slim to non.
