Max Caster level and caster level help!

I have a 18 sorc air savant 2 monk 4 epic level toon (i have 2 wizard and 2 sorc past lives if that matters)

With my ED not enabled(making a dormant destiny active)

I get the message that my Chain lightning is casting at lvl 24. How is this possible?

20 +3 = 23 for MCL

18+6 = 24 CL

Shouldn't the message be at my cap of 23?

I tested it being naked with no gear on.

Are you sure your ED is inactive? Have you tried making one Active that you don't have any points in yet?

On a side note: How did you get 20 +3 for MCL? I'm not quite familiar with how MCL is calculated (or what all goes into it) but from what I can tell from wiki;

* the CL = 24 || your casting class level 18 + 2 (Air Savant 1) + 2 (Air Savant 2) + 2 (Air Savant 3)

* MCL of Chain Lightning = 23 || 20 + 1 ML (Air Savant 1) + 1 ML (Air Savant 2) + 1 ML (Air Savant 3)

****Now that I realize that I misread the OP's build, I understand where MCL = 23 came from.

the log ignores the caster level cap, it simply says what is your caster level for a particular spell if there was no cap.

18 levels + 6 air savant = 24

game does not offer information about max CL cap.

Oops. Guess I misread the OP's

I have a 18 sorc air savant 2 monk 4 epic level toon

as saying he was 18 Sorc Air Savant 2
instead of 18 sorc Air Savant (3) / 2 monk / 4 Epic.

Correcting my first post...
