they dont fix anything, just restart the processes that hung up. it has always been garbage coded software that is the problem, not internaps hardware, thats for sure.

It is clear that you feel the real issue is our inability to understand how hard it is to make a game, when the real issue is in fact that the game we all pay for is diseased. A disease that has been spreading for months.

It is clear that you feel the real issue is our inability to understand how hard it is to make a game, when the real issue is in fact that the game we all pay for is diseased. As a programmer, I am well aware that many factors can cause a server crash and as I was sarcastically referring in my previous post, it is not necessary the code that is the issue. Here are some factors other than the code that can make the server crash :
1. Data overflow error or server overload.
2. Hard disk crash ( Even if they use dual hard drives, it is still possible )
3. Data corruption
4. A technician dropped his cup of coffe on the server by accident
5. Denial-of-service attack ( If a hacker applies a denial-of-service attack on a game server, it may make players' ping considerably higher, making the server liable to crash, and autokicking players more )
6. The code is not optimized
etc..

Actually, I would be REALLY surprised if it was a problem with the code because the game server really is the core. This game is running for like 7 years now and if there was such a big issue with the code ( i.e slow, unstable, etc ), then they would have fixed it many years before.
I sure don't know what made the server crash but implying that I am wrong by saying that is is not necessary the code that made it crash, then I believe this is unrealistic, unless you have better arguments to prove that the code is obviously the issue.
