    Default Rogue or monk

Ok guys... I need a little advice here.

I can play only melee character - and cant decide. Played both and have dilemma.

    What I love about rogue?
    Sneak attack dmg
    Disabling traps
    Big bunch of skills
    Evasion
    Assassinate
    UMD!!

BUT: I feel like both Shadowdancer and LD are both not good. LD is just not for me. Shadowdancer is buggy and has no cool skills. Basically - after playing as Grandmaster(and I dont talk bout EIN... but mass knockdown, no insta fails on 1 etc , +w for wraps and dodge, tumbling thro enemies I feel like its the bst destiny ever. in Grandmaster almost every skill is usefull for a monk - I cant decide into what i should invest. On SD and LD I feel like i have nothing good to invest into
LD - epic moment, Improved PA and +6 DC to stun and thats really it.
In rogue all those strikes are mostly buggy. 25% incorporeality have big minus of light dmg, and consume is not really working. Also epic moment seems like **** compared to others. And tro get things usefull u have to invest into a lot of crappy skills )

    What I love about monk?
    Stunning Fist
    Grandmaster of Flowers Destiny
    Speed movement
    All saves pretty high
    Ninja Spy Pre

But Im lacking some cool instant kill (QP doesnt count... in EE it does not exist) here and well... I miss having all skills so high. And Im worried about damage. There are no that high numbers like on rogue.

    But yeah...
I want you to answer some questions for me:
    1. If u were to play one of those toons - which one would u choose?
    2. If someone wanted to join your party (for a quest with no traps) which one would u rather take?
    3. Who do you think does better dmg overall?

Right now Im playing rogue/monk splash. 12 monk 7 rogue 1 druid - ive got almost all things besides assassinate. But I prefer pure classes.

My vote would be a combination of both rogue and monk with high wisdom for Gmof use.
Like for example a handwraps user 13rogue/6 or 7 Monk/1fighter or druid half elf pally dilly for uber saves (or a human 12 rogue/6 monk/2 paladin), Assasin II, ninja spy I, traps capable, umd, good sneak attack, good against fortified enemies, high stunning fist dc, Drifting lotus, bluff+improved deception, high heal amp, etc. Just try to reach at least 42-46 wisdom at end level for decent Gmof use and combined with high stunning fist (60+ dc ) and sneak damage your damage and tactics will be very good, and also some dodge, hp, displascement and incorporeal invest for defense.

Can check the eviscerator https://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=405503 although i would invest a bit more on wisdom on that build if want to have more Gmof use on EE.

My splash build is pretty good BUT - I am a little afraid of SOON UPCOMING enhancements pass.( I know "soon"... haha... :P)
Id like to decide now rogue or monk cause I just dont want to grind and make e.g. epic black scale light armor to find later im gonna play monk and dont use it :P.

Im tired of grinding for gear "in case" I changed class.
I have 2x eMG black dragon scale 2x radiance epic spy glass and other rogue stuff
But I also have Grave Wrappings, villagers set, caught in the web wraps - nd other monk stuff.

Im tired of collecting gear for both.

If you want to be pure, i would say that a Monk is more balanced and easy to play all around than a rogue, having with good dps and tactics everywhere.

Although rogue can achieve better dps in some situations and can have traps an umd, misses in tactics and saves and suffer a lot against fortified enemies like undeads, elementals and constructs.

And since you said you like Gmof destiny more than others...

Rogue for the fun and monk for the easy button.

Rogue past lives are useless unless you want to be one on your last life or are going for completionist and Monk past lives are extra damge if not going for completionist to do it 3 times.

Hm....I am also thinking about UMD monk?

    11 skills ranks
    +5 epic lvls
    +5 charisma mod
    +4 gh
    +2 good luck slotted
    +3 feat +3 to skill
+3 twisted tier 2 from fatesinger
    +1 yugo potion
    _____________
thats 34 UMD. So 85% for heal scrolls and some others pretty good ones.
Maybe I could swap situationally for a +3 UMD item to get tp 37 umd.

Then go a pure monk with scrolling ability. Tempting idea for me I think Ill try it in future.

To the above - I dont feel like monk is easy button. Played both and well...
Rogue is great cause ot never gets agro. NEVER - if u know how to play it. Never agroed = almost never dead.
+ gets a lot of skills like UMD - so can heal scroll efficiently, trap disabling and spotting, max balance jump etc sneaking etc.

Monk has some better CC skills but his dmg is not that big as rogues AND well.... lack of umd is hurtfull :P

I think the ideal for you is 19 rog / 1 mnk unarmed fighter. You get 6/6 from your rogue list and 3.5/5 from your monk list.

If the enhancement pass comes out and completely nukes your character, a +1 LR is not prohibitively expensive.

No piece of gear is that important, if you don't want to grind for it then don't.
