An epic hireling vendor will be added to Gianthold before U17 ships. We're currently focusing on monster balancing, so haven't gotten to that yet.
Purplefooz,
Will there be any new epic hirelings? Or will it be the same ones available in Evingstar?
I would like to see an Epic Bard option.
Thanks

I agree with the suggestion (should be mass deathward tho), but disagree that there is 'no point' in using them without it, since if your character can cast it themselves the hireling doesn't necessarily need to have it.
But darn it is useful for the hirelings to have.
I also restate my eternal desire for hirelings that could have resist energy to HAVE resist energy. On their bar if they remain too stupid to cast it on themselves, but preferably they would cast it on themselves if hit with that specific damage, and have it on their bar so it could be casts on 'pacakge NPCs' in escort quests.
Honestly, it would be nice if we could access their character sheet (or a modified version of it) and load the last 4 spells/abilities in the way you can with a pet. The epic ones have so many abilities and it seems like the worst ones tend to make it to the bar in most cases.
Things worthy of Standing Stone going EXTREME PREJUDICE™ on.:
- Epic and Legendary Mysterious ring upgrades, please.
- Change the stack size of filigree in the shared bank to 50. The 5 stack makes the shared bank worthless for storing filigree in a human usable manner.
- Fixing why I don't connect to the chat server for 5 minutes when I log into a game world.
- Fixing the wonky Lightning Sphere and Tactical Det firing by converting them to use alchemist spell arcing.
- Redoing the drop rates of tomes in generic and raid loot tables.
True, but so far I only know if one very grindy item that provides mass death ward and the rest is a 7 minute single clicky (unless you count the potions). Only problem is that anti-magic ruins the clicky option and level drained hirelings are not very useful eithers.
And it's not like you see less level drain in the new quests. That's why I have to continue using the level 20 FvS over the other hirelings.
A thought I've had a long time as well. A 'hireling' that levels with you kind of like the pet. I mean what's the difference with a set number of hirelings that you rent, or one that 'levels' with you that you have more control over? They're still going to be pretty much the same.
At least with a perma hireling (that you pay a rental fee for) can be improved and you'll have control over its features. Plus you can gear it out any which way you like. And that would still leave room for gold hirelings for cash.
Please add an epic hireling with the Lesser Dragonmark of Passage. Mikayl the Pious (Fighter 11) is not suitable for epic content.

Are you going to lower EE monster CRs to be the 30 they should have been in the first place and give them attack speed and special abilities they should have had instead of just being sacks of HPs with ridiculous saves?
Your CR 60 level 60 spell casters who auto-break our spell resistance, have undispellable spells and are immune to trap the soul are more than a little annoying. Although it is funny as hell that a level 60 caster still uses level 6 spells for minimal damage.
It's almost essential. As someone else said, it's highly unlikely that someone has an eDusk Heart, and carrying around a backpack full of Visors is just irritating and silly.
A hireling divine that doesn't have deathward and an active (not relying on the crappy AI) raise spell and a Heal (or Heal, Mass) is doing quite poorly. Some of the epic hirelings, to my recollection, don't have ANY of those things and are thus beyond useless--they're a pernicious waste of party space.

We need hireling augments to slot in to give them different behaviors. "Stay behind me", "stay ahead of me", "use the dance animation as much as possible", "stop using that stupid spell, it's stupid", "cast dancing ball" + "when all mobs are killed" etc.
Oh, I agree that having mass deathward is a very nice to have, I just disagree that the hirelings are 'completely useless' without it. They are just less useful. Just as they are less useful without resist energy. My 'fantasy hirelings' would have a 'spellbook' button on the end of their bar that would give the player access to the hirelings full spellbook (and my assumption would be that they would have a full spell-list).
What is this item that gives mass-deathward, epic Dusk Heart? I am not familiar with such a thing.
I don't know of any of the epic favored souls that don't have a clickable res spell. They didn't for a while but they all have one now.
I've capped two characters now (monk and druid) and am darn close to capping two more (wizard/rogue and radiant servant) and so far the lack of deathward on the hirelings has been only a minor annoyance for me. Maybe level drain gets cast more on hard and elite? (which I don't play very much, since I mostly solo)
