The products for sale include a combination of core rules books, adventure series (what us old gamers call “modules”), supplement materials, and various backlist products from most of the D&D rules systems known to gaming-kind — Basic, AD&D, AD&D 2nd Edition, 3rd Edition, 3.5 and 4.0 — as well as specific campaign settings like Planescape and Ravenloft. Much of the materials on dndclassics.com date to the “Golden Age” of role-playing games, back when Gary Gygax’s TSR Hobbies, Inc. ran the role-playing game industry, before his company was purchased by Wizards of the Coast.

MT: What PDFs can we expect on the site?

LT: The initial launch includes 80 titles, and we plan to release smaller batches of additional titles on a rolling basis after that. Needless to say the final catalog will be extensive.
MT: Can we expect Dragon and Dungeon Magazine annuals to be collected exclusively in PDF format?

LT: At this time, it is too early to say. Based on community feedback, our first goal was to make available for purchase once again, as much of the fan-favorite backlist of D&D product offerings available as possible. We will continue to listen to what D&D players want, and our goal is to continue to deliver on that. Having said that, both the Dragon Magazine Annual Volume 1 and the Dungeon Magazine Annual are available as part of the 80 titles available at launch.

I wonder if that includes porting the old D&D novels that are not in eBook format over? I picked up reading them only recently, and I would love to get my hands on old titles. I've sent WotC emails to that effect several times.
The problem is never how to get new, innovative thoughts into your mind, but how to get old ones out. Every mind is a building filled with archaic furniture. Clean out a corner of your mind and creativity will instantly fill it.

Great find on this. I'll definitely be restocking my 3rd and 2nd edition in at least digital format.

    Looks like a great thing!

But training to sell something and not even using a spellchecker?

Looks good other than the pricing.

Honestly I'd collect them if they were cheaper. At "sale" prices for $5 a module and $10 for a manual I can look elsewhere. And they're watermarked to boot.

These are sweet, IMO. There's a couple of freebies in there too, including a low-level Eberron module by Keith Baker.
Have fun, and don't forget to gather for buffs!

Pricing is WAY excessive for PDF's of long discontinued books.

and while thats a lot of books. Its nowhere near "Everything". Not even 1st edition AD&D Players handbook is there....

If you click to sort by edition, first edition isnt on there - they have basic/expert (which was D&D) 2nd, 3rd, 4th. I dont see first edition (which was first called AD&D - Advanced Dungeons and Dragons).

This is likely a work in progress. Im surprised they didnt do it sooner. I know quite a few DMs who run campaigns from their laptop instead of the old books and screen method. Makes it alot more portable.

I still have some several dozens of PDF files which you could download for free on the official WotC site some years back (5 or 6+ years back).

The offers now are Interesting. Lately I've been collecting the old 2nd edition stuff. Mainly printed editions because I want something tangible.
