level 1 should be rogue. This gives you more skill points at creation for locks, umd, etc. Shintao doesn't offer much if you're planning to be ranged. I'd recommend going dark monk for the bonus sneak attack damage.

Mental toughness at level 15 and Weapon focus: ranged at 18 means you can't take Arcane Archer until 18. In my opinion that is a long time to wait.

Stunning fist will only help you if you're unarmed. Will you be using a bow primarily, or your fists? (note: tempest won't work with wraps, but would work with short swords)

If I were to use that level split I'd probably take:
    1-Rogue
    2-Ranger
    3-Monk
    4-8 Ranger
    9-19 Monk
    20-Ranger

by level 8 you can have Arcane Archer, you get TWF and ITWF for free, and can easily swap to wraps when you need to melee.

Another thought would be Artificer instead of Rogue. This lets you take artificer energy instead of mental toughness.
you lose 1d6 SA, haste 1, and some skill points at level 1, but you save a feat, get free artificer wand usage (repair, flame arrow, stone skin, etc.), gain +1 umd, and a nifty iron defender (hold laughter please).

    Level 1 Iron Defender uses:
-Hunter of boxes to speed the ransack process.
    -Designated lever puller
-Tell them to hold position at the entrance, and if you die they can teleport to pick up your stone/open doors to shrine
-There is more, but I can't remember atm

Not asking you to take artificer, just think about it (if you haven't already).

If you are determined to stay with that level order I'd recommend feat swapping one of the toughness feats for a weapon focus ranged, a monk toughness for dodge, and at level 12 I'd take mental toughness instead of ITWF (you'll get it for free at ranger 6.

Taking rogue first is highly recommended.

    Hope it helps,
    -PaxsMickey

EDIT: for AA you need Mental toughness (or an arcane spell point enhancement), Weapon focus: ranged, and Point blank shot. You only need 4 levels or ranger for the SP to take mental toughness, so you could do Rogue/M/Ra/Ra/Ra/Ra/M/M/M/M/M/M/M/M/M/M/M/Ra/Ra/Ra and still get AA by level 8.

Good build, but as the above poster said, take rogue (or arty) at 1st level for the extra skillpoints... and i'm assuming you're picking elf from personal taste or not having half elf, as half elf tends to be the standard for this kind of build now - the dilettante feat lets you add some pretty significant extra capabilities (generally rogue for sneak attack, or cleric for non-UMD wand/scroll use, maybe barb for toughness enhancements)
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was, now what's it is weird and scary to me.

By taking rogue at 1st level it reduces my survivability greatly compared to monk(extra toughness at 1) and fists of light at 3. Also, with this build, i was able to achieve enough UMD WITH rogue at 9 to use up to lvl 4 Artificer scrolls at 60%+.

And no, not having AA til 18 is fine, since I won't be using a bow until Pinion or Alchemical T3, I can't use bows til 20+ anyway, which gives the unarmed portion of the build it's time to shine.

I couldn't remember if ITWF was free for ranger by 7 so I included it. Taking GTWF instead of ITWF at 12 and getting either Improved Martial Arts or Vorpal Strikes at 24, must look at them more.

Light is way over dark in terms of self sufficiency. (Dark over light for dps)
I think i saw something about stunning fist, maybe i'm just hallucinating, but the DC should be quite high enough for at least EH with a wis +8 item as this is portrayed as a base.

Also, Half-elf would make a great alternative: 100% heal scrolls(cleric or fvs) 100% arcane(sorc or wiz) or more sneak attack with rogue dilli, but they're SO ugly But i prefer elves since they're highly commended among Ebberon and if their was a "king" of DDO it would surely be an elf ^_^ (Just saying)

Lastly, this build is SURVIVABILITY over DPS.
I would take this build with UMD scroll healing, fists, and wands over a 20 Barbarian with SF pots running around yelling HJEALZ MEH! - No offense barbs ... i <3 you

Thanks Again for the help !
