    Default Dwarf fvs - feat selection

    so im getting close to hobs final life (for now)

    I have 2 sorc, 2 wiz, 1 fvs pls.

    I want him to be a fvs - just cause i feel that fvs make better evokers then clerics.

    I want him to be a dwarf. Why? cause i said so! Actually this is almost all flavor, but its kinda important to me (hob has always been either a dwarf or a wf in every life, and im trying to keep it that way.

    So i want to make sure i didnt miss any important feats

    the order is not imp - i can change most of that around pretty easily

    if you ask me, i would drop empower healing, and take evocation focus 1

    but thats just me.
    your build is going to destroy quests with bb

    I disagree. Assuming you are going Sovereign Host for the freebie CLW, Empower Heal turns out to be more than worth it. It's also becoming more useful to boost Mass Heal/Heal considering the HP of some of these crazy tanks. For your two epic feats, I would personally take GSP and ESP due to your Evo DC already being extremely high.

    my heal spells hit really hard now, with * lore items, devotion, and other source of spell power

    granted, this toon is only lvl 18, but so far, i dont miss the empower healing (i have 2 past life cleric)
    you have to remember that we used to have tanks with only 600 hp. the fact that they have 1k now, gives the healer even more room to manage. (again, haven't gone into new EE content with a healer)

    to give you an example, a cure serious wounds (the one that you can get in pots, that does around 25 hp), will hit for more than 100 with NO metas on. i have had it reach 400 HP healed with empower spell.
    A no metas cure serious wounds cost how much? 12 mana? thats pretty sick healing. consider also using a cure crit, for 20 mana.
    with 32 mana, you have healed more than 300 hp

    for now, because of the small difference in mana cost, and taking into acount that this build is starving for feats, i stand by my choice.

    on a evoker offensive caster, empower spell gives more benefit than empower healing

    i have had my Blade barrier crit for 950 dmg. no need to heal the party when the mobs are dead :P

    now, raids a re a different beast. as you said, high HP tanks might not get to 100% hp in one spell, but you have to remember that if you heal them for OVER 100%, its a waste of mana.
    thats why you always need several stacks of heal scrolls AND wands, and to master the cooldowns of each, and to heal for exactly whats needed


    To the OP, arent you missing toughness now that i look at it?
    that opens the Toughness Enhancement line, so you are missing on alot of HP.
    not a huge problem on a FVS, with the right gear, stats, and ED, but at mid levels you might struggle.

    You need at least a normal evocation focus for access to the magister evocation mastery (+3 to evo DCs). Since you have some caster PLs, its likely you have access to Magister...

    kinda - i will by the time i tr. im gonna spend some time at cap to get destinys ready. started in draconic and have that at level two from one of my lives

    I might have missed it, but I didn't see Heighten, nor a Spell Focus, to unlock the DC-boosting ED abilities.

    heighten was supposed to go at level 12 just not in there

    i think i will take spell focus evo for my level 21 feat and either greater spell pen or gsf: evo for 24.

    havnt thought much about the epic levels on this guy

    With 9 feats total, I would aim for Toughness, the 4 main metas (Max, Quicken, Emp Heal, Emp, probably in that order), Spell Pen x3, and either Heighten or SF:Evo w/DC Twists.
    Semi-retired Build Engineer. Everything was better back in our day. Get off my lawn.
