You can see my take on a caster-focused cleric here.
Semi-retired Build Engineer. Everything was better back in our day. Get off my lawn.
you can still make a healbot and someone who can be offensive. All it takes is modifying some of the enhancements and feats you had. Then you get to do both. Also do you teach them to scroll/ wand heal? one of the best things to teach a divine? not to waste their sp on people going fast? not to run after people?
im sorry i just hate locking people into one role like you are doing. Every new divine i see they melee and use their spells. So if this person did the same it would be far weaker then it could of been. I dont see why you couldnt just modify some of it to make the build a little better without tomes and 32 pt build.
FYI- this is what I TR'd to.
Still a healbot but able to stand up, fight, smite and do a little more than stand there.Code:Character Plan by DDO Character Planner Version 03.14.02 DDO Character Planner Home Page Level 20 Neutral Good Human Male (20 Cleric) Hit Points: 282 Spell Points: 1459 BAB: 15\15\20\25\25 Fortitude: 15 Reflex: 7 Will: 18 Starting Feat/Enhancement Abilities Base Stats Modified Stats (34 Point) (Level 1) (Level 20) Strength 13 18 Dexterity 10 12 Constitution 14 17 Intelligence 10 12 Wisdom 17 22 Charisma 14 16 Tomes Used +2 Tome of Strength used at level 7 +2 Tome of Dexterity used at level 7 +2 Tome of Constitution used at level 7 +2 Tome of Intelligence used at level 7 +2 Tome of Wisdom used at level 7 +2 Tome of Charisma used at level 7 +3 Tome of Wisdom used at level 11 Starting Feat/Enhancement Base Skills Modified Skills Skills (Level 1) (Level 20) Balance 2 12 Bluff 2 3 Concentration 6 20 Diplomacy 2 3 Disable Device n/a n/a Haggle 2 3 Heal 7 30 Hide 0 1 Intimidate 2 3 Jump 1 4 Listen 3 6 Move Silently 0 1 Open Lock n/a n/a Perform n/a n/a Repair 0 1 Search 0 1 Spot 3 6 Swim 1 4 Tumble n/a 1.5 Use Magic Device n/a 14 Level 1 (Cleric) Feat: (Selected) Empower Healing Spell Feat: (Past Life) Past Life: Cleric Feat: (Human Bonus) Toughness Enhancement: Follower of the Sovereign Host Level 2 (Cleric) Level 3 (Cleric) Feat: (Selected) Heighten Spell Level 4 (Cleric) Level 5 (Cleric) Level 6 (Cleric) Feat: (Selected) Maximize Spell Level 7 (Cleric) Level 8 (Cleric) Level 9 (Cleric) Feat: (Selected) Quicken Spell Level 10 (Cleric) Level 11 (Cleric) Level 12 (Cleric) Feat: (Selected) Empower Spell Level 13 (Cleric) Level 14 (Cleric) Level 15 (Cleric) Feat: (Selected) Spell Focus: Evocation Level 16 (Cleric) Level 17 (Cleric) Level 18 (Cleric) Feat: (Selected) Spell Penetration Level 19 (Cleric) Level 20 (Cleric) Enhancement: Cleric Radiant Servant I Enhancement: Cleric Radiant Servant II Enhancement: Unyielding Sovereignty Enhancement: Human Adaptability Wisdom I Enhancement: Cleric Improved Empower Healing I Enhancement: Racial Toughness I Enhancement: Racial Toughness II Enhancement: Improved Heal I Enhancement: Improved Heal II Enhancement: Improved Heal III Enhancement: Improved Heal IV Enhancement: Cleric Prayer of Smiting I Enhancement: Cleric Prayer of Smiting II Enhancement: Cleric Prayer of Smiting III Enhancement: Cleric Prayer of Life I Enhancement: Cleric Prayer of Life II Enhancement: Cleric Prayer of Life III Enhancement: Cleric Prayer of Incredible Smiting I Enhancement: Cleric Prayer of Incredible Smiting II Enhancement: Cleric Prayer of Incredible Smiting III Enhancement: Cleric Prayer of Incredible Life I Enhancement: Cleric Prayer of Incredible Life II Enhancement: Cleric Prayer of Incredible Life III Enhancement: Cleric Smiting I Enhancement: Cleric Smiting II Enhancement: Cleric Life Magic I Enhancement: Cleric Life Magic II Enhancement: Cleric Life Magic III Enhancement: Cleric Life Magic IV Enhancement: Cleric Improved Spell Penetration I Enhancement: Cleric Improved Spell Penetration II Enhancement: Cleric Energy of the Zealot I Enhancement: Cleric Energy of the Zealot II Enhancement: Cleric Energy of the Zealot III Enhancement: Cleric Wisdom I Enhancement: Cleric Divine Light I Enhancement: Cleric Extra Turning I Enhancement: Cleric Improved Turning I Enhancement: Cleric Wand and Scroll Mastery I Enhancement: Cleric Wand and Scroll Mastery II
I was going to stay far away from this train wreck of a thread but I just can't for one reason - I am a licensed instructor, and no where in the Fundamentals of Instruction will you find what you offer as a recommended teaching tool let alone a viable form of instruction.
As to getting all bent out of shape over build critique - take a pill or grow some thicker skin or something... you chose to post in a public forum, therefore you chose to open yourself up to critique; plain and simple.
oh i know i just hate telling new players oh gear will make you better. i save that stuff for later. let them get to know the game, players, quests, spells, monsters, etc. Gear always makes a toon better, but so does experience in the game. So i just hate to bombard them with all of this info. they wont remember it. i do it as we go as things come into existence in the game like fom, deathward.
Yep. I want to be able to solo- and I mean solo not with a hire. And if it doesnt work out, I change it again.
Im not some one who wants an easy button. I want to find out what works for myself. I dont want some one elses cookie cutter min/max toon that all I have to do is set up the hotbars and play. I've played DnD since 1977 and the draw for me was the adventure. If it doesnt work, there is ALWAYS reroll, LR, GR, TR to fall back on. To me, following some one else's min/max build plan is akin to godmode on console games. It makes the game boring and I never want to play it again. With all of the complaints about how easy the game is, why would you WANT to have a prefab toon that makes it easier?
Step out of the box and do something different.
Even the TR build is terrible. A cleric with a higher Wisdom to buff up spell DCs, definitely solos a lot better than a base 18 STR on a cleric, especially since the BAB is hindered in clerics.
It's like you are trying to do too many things, instead of focusing on one. So you'll be mediocre at everything, and good at none of it.

I did use it. And the scond build was what I TR'd to after I learned several things. Gear, how enhancements work, what other clerics do. And it's really not much of a change as far as Im concerned. It's still a healbot. It is just better at standing in the fray and healing.
With the +8 available from items, +'s from insightful, exceptional, profane and such, It gets high enough. Geared out the DCs will be fine. I've been in DDO for a while- I have plenty of toys.
And ... Greater command, whack whack whack, greater command, whack whack whack, burst, smite greater command, whack whack... just for example. It's a tactic that worked even for the first life.
Good luck in Epic Elite content. I doubt you ever command casters, with such a low DC. Also must take a while to kill things on any epic difficulty.
I certainly wouldn't take that cleric build in any of my Epic Elite groups.

And another problem with cookie cutter builds.
I know a member of CLAW that builds WF Wiz19/fighter1 toons that make both melees and casters look amateurish. And yet, people that dont know how awesome his toons are, look at the build and go... huh? He plays it well. It's built for his style and it's awesome. So... your loss. I dont want to build what YOU think is a good toon. I want to build for ME and MY enjoyment. And, no one said you had to include me.
I was going to squelch but too much popcorn here for that. The member of claw that you mentioned (well the ones I know that have such builds) don't take them into ee or even much into old epics as they put it, "It's a fun build, and I have fun with it but it's just not up to it"
