    Since you dropped IPS would you change anything on your starting stats since your dex doesn't have to be so high ?

    I just finished a build like yours on the planner, it is amazingly close to it, differences are:

    1) I have a 36 pt built so I raised CON to 18, otherwise stats are identical

    2) You don't need WF:Ranged for any pre-req, I took Mithral Body instead (my feat order is slightly different)

    3) Enhancements: UMD is already high enough, so, I took no ranks at Improved UMD. Also, I don't think you need the full repair crit chance / crit multi line, 7/1/1 should be fine. That leaves space for extra SP via the energy line and some small ranger benefits like sprint boost and favored damage I.

    Yea wouldnt change anything on the starting stats, high dex is superb for the reflex save.

    Will update the OP on the weekend for the current version of the build, with new gear layout etc.

    Yea u have a feat too much, the lvl 24 Bonus Artificer feat is not possible

    So you have to choose between other feats what to drop for quicken.

    I had a failed LR the other day, so it was either "be gimped for a week" or "do a TR".
    I told Haek to give me a number (58) and to /roll d100. If the roll was higher than his number I'd TR into a jug.
    He rolled 59
    With a guildie we both TRed into jugs (Haedo now has 2 capped & geared jugs!).

    well I love mine and thank Haek as much as I can for the original build.. Its just a really fun thing to play. I've been tempted to TR rTFM to one but you know how I am about pure builds so keeping him as a gimp'd FVS shiradi thing for the time being....lmao

    Thanks, I didnt know if i would had enough UMD to do nofail Heals and Res scrolls mainly because dumping CHA but i guess we will find out at lvl 20 .
    Good idea bout Mithral Body, it should help on low levels.

    To be honest, I assumed some gear in order to reach a 40+ umd without the enhancement.

    I was thinking 23 ranks, 5 epic, 0 CHA (6 base + 4 tome), 2 good luck, 3 spare hand, 5 GreenSteel item, +1 Arti, that gives you 39 which allows you to cast GH scrolls, then you have 43. Some CHA could be slotted on a colorless slot I guess to add another +3.

    Keep in mind you only need 37 on an arty for level 6 scrolls.

    Default Build critique/lvling questions

    Hi all.

    I think this is pretty similar to what some others have - just wanted to be sure I wasn't screwing anything up terribly if I follow the build below.

    I have most of the gear needed once I cap - primarily missing pinion.


    I was planning on doing the Pally version, even though the ranger seems generally preferred now, as I'm TR'ing a first life monk into this build, and it seems like the Ranger version tends to be used by people with extensive past lives. If I shouldnt worry about it and should still go for the Ranger version, let me know.


    Also, regarding levling - I have a Carnifex for lower lvls, and a base SoS for higher - is the difference between SoS and a Lit II falchion enough that it's worth crafting the Lit II? Or will the SoS carry me through? (I likely have the mats for a Lit II, but if I could use them instead to expand my displace clickie quiver, I would).


    edit: oh, and as far as I know there's no bonus at 24, so mithral body is out there. Is mithral useful enough that I should dump one of the other feats?

    u have to watch out, u have chosen 2 feats for lvl 24 where u in fact only get one. That bonus Artificer feat wont apply there.

    So you have one feat less total. Would drop Mihtral Body although it is superb for looks and some PRR :P

    Ranger version is better since u have 3 more feats to play with

    It's hard to get 50 reflex saves without twisting in magister on the ranger version...

    Well its not really that hard, i mean i have 50 with brace for impact.
    Paladin version has better saves ofc, but the gain of 3 feats kinda trumps it ^^

    Lots of people miss one or two of the sources for saves, so here they are:

    +6-8 Resistance Bonus
    +2 Good Luck
    +4 Greater Heroism
    +1 Eldritch Ritual
    +4 Superior Parrying
    +Tensers (+2 Fort and Reflex)
    +Primal Scream (+2-3 Fort + 4 Will When u have Tunnel Vision)

    Various kinds of useful saves from Destinies:
    Tier 1: Draconic Vitality +6 Fort no fail on 1, impregnable Mind +6 will no fail on 1, brace for impact +2 to all +40% fort, unearthly reactions +6 reflex +3dodge

    tier 4: Perfection of Mind +6 will +6 additional will against enchantments, fear etc no fail on 1, so basically +12. Very useful for some quests with High DC casters spamming disco, fear or if youre fleshie Hold monster.

    Now if u consider u need a 19 base dex on ranger for IPS, then u can go up to:
    19 base + 1 enhancement + 1 exceptional + 3 Insight + 8 dex + 2 ship + 4 tensers = 38 dex
    40 if youre a completionist.

    So with base reflex of 13 + 14 dex + 7 resistance + 1 ritual + 4 superior parry + 2 good luck + 4 GH + 1 haste armor + 2 Epic levels + 2 brace = 50.
    If u use uneartly reactions you are sitting on 54.

    Getting the saves is not the problem, especially since you dont need the bracers or glove for healing amp

    Thanks for a great build. Loving my ranger version so far. 200k xp to lvl 20 on my 1st completionist life and can not wait for epic levels.
