    Default Omniheals' Final Life!

It's finally time! I just finished getting to level 20 for the penultimate time on Omniheals. 13 lives done, now to cap his final life.

But I need some help. I want Omniheals to be the best he can be once he hits epic levels.

    Past lives he has:

    3x Cleric - +3 Conjuration DCs
    3x FvS - +3 Spell Pen, + 60 SP
    3x Wiz - +6 Spell Pen
    1 Barb - +10 HP
    1 Monk - +1 Dmg (lol)
    1 Pally - +5% Heal Amp (lol)
    1 Sorc - +1 Evo DCs, +20 SP

His next and FINAL life will be Wizard PM, Necro + Enchant focused

    SO, my questions are:

    1. Best race? Obviously Human or Elf. But will I need the Elf Spell pen with +9 from Past lives?

    2. Do I need to take every spell pen feat to no-fail epic elites?

I don't know how to make build breakdowns, so if someone could make one that'd be delightful!

Have a look at ron's character planner or www.ddochargen.com, both have export abilities afaik.

All those lives (gratz btw) & not going for completionist?

Suggestion: change his name to Omnikills.

I haven't documented it personally, but I think the high water marks I've seen mentioned for Spell Pen on Epic Elite Drow are high 50s. (58 for Priestesses or something?)

As an Elf, you could reach 62 (overkill!) Spell Pen fulled geared and twisted for it, 58 on any other race. But having that higher potential gives you more flexibility to use twists, enhancements, gear, etc., for other stuff if you want to. Largely a matter of personal preference.

    Okay, thanks for your inputs.

If I were to go Human, the extra feat I would take would probably be Insightful Reflexes....not sure if that's worth it at Elite levels.

No matter your race, take insightful reflexes. Making a reflex save (with or without evasion) can often mean surviving something you wouldn't otherwise survive in EE.

Personally, I prefer drow for race - that extra point of int matters for me, as I don't want a feat on great intelligence (have one temporarily, though, until I get my +5 int tome), and I only want to twist 1 int (EotA:Magister...other twists are Piercing Spellcraft and Endless Faith - mind you, this is in Magister layout for max DC and Spell Pen, though). With past lives like that, you'll have enough spell pen just by getting the feats and enhancements, and using the right gear.

Wish I had read this earlier! I already TR'd as a Human Wiz. I think I'll be okay without the +1 DC from being Drow though. I just don't like the way they look really, and Insightful Reflexes really fits in well with Human Extra Feat, because I like having every single metamagic. (Including both maximize AND empower for niac's and eladur's for red/purple names).

+1, thank you for your input though.

For a lot of content, I'm actually not using maximize or empower at all now (unless maxed CC is necessary), as I'm running shiradi and using quickened-only MM/CM/Meteor Swarm (with PL missiles for bosses). You should definitely give shiradi a try.

I'll outright admit that a large portion of my decision of drow is that I like the way drow wizards look. >_>

Always 100% take Insightful Reflexes on every wizard ever. (Of all time.)

That out of the way, we can calculate your spell pen.
    20 base
+8 feats (they are so cost effective I can't imagine why you wouldn't take them)
    +9 past lives
    =
    37

This will do you pretty well outside of EE. From there you would need some combination of...

5 being in an arcane ED
3 Spell Pen from the ED you are in
3 Spell Pen twist from the other arcane ED
2 Spell Pen twist from the bard ED
    2 item direct
    2 item indirect (Arcane Augmentation)
    3 Wizard enhancement
    4 Elf enhancement

...to get to the high 50s number.

Another sneaky advantage to going Elf is that you can get 3 points of Spell Pen out of 5 AP instead of 12, and a wizard can always use more AP.

I second getting epic spell pen.. 4 spell pen is just much harder to get than +1 int, and if your spellpen is too high you can still shuffle around enhancements, destinies or twists.

On Thelanis: Makkuroi - Heroic+Epic completionist, 30+ Past lives - Guild: Zeugen der Dreizehn
