So I'm a long time player that takes long breaks in between periods of playing. I have always plaued a sorc aa a main and have been on a long term goal of building acompletionist with 3x caster lives. I am now more than halfway through only six lives to go and i can finally see the light. Yes, the value of the TR isn't as strong as it was pre-epic destiny, but I'm stubborn and I am going to finish it.

I have great gear for turning and burning levels, but I have never spent much time at 20+. I really don't have any decent gear for 20+ to be honest. I have started grabbing a few tiers of an ED when I hit 20 and will continue to do to make it easier on my final life, but I have never farmed at that level and have gotten lucky with drops so I don't even have an epic item by sheer luck. I'm planning on human full sorc at the end.

I have looked at ayspam's gear (ayspam has been the inspiration), but wanted to get other experienced sorcs opinions on gear for 20+. I'm planning on ice savant with necro abilities ala ayspam. I'd like to hear how other folks fair with this or if they have a strong opinion about another option. What gear setup do you have?

Thanks for your help. If I can farm a little each remaining life, maybe I'll have something to start with I finally stop TR'ing.

It really depends on how you want your slot allocation. You should check the loot tables for the new contents, which are available at ddowiki.com You will find some stuff useful and other stuff not so useful. Personally, a lot of the new stuff was just shifting stuff around without actually upgrading much.

Suggestions:
Wizard's Ward - excellent source spell power, with Spell Focus Mastery. This and a 1H weapon I find to be more desirable than the Twilight staff.
Planar Focus - when not attuned it's not particularly useful, so at least get Erudition. The stat amount depends what you need.
Epic Bracers of the Wind - still very good if you dont have one. Get it for the extra effects, not the spell power.

I dont know what you need for other stuff because you have not provided much detail about your character. If you already Dragon Touched robes, then I can say that will still work well. Spidersilk Robes might be better, if you dont have a good SP item and prefer your charisma to be in that slot.

Twists: echoes of the ancestors, necro specialist, echoes of power

Gear:

Head: +8 cha of omniscience
Neck: +8 con of nat armor
Trinket: Litany
Cloak: Placeholder for future, exc cha +1 of resistance +7
Belt: Min II hp
Ring I: lrg slot crafted greater conj foc of GFL
Ring II: Epic ring of elemental essence slotted +1 exc con
Bracers: Sun Soul
Robe: Spidersilk exc cha +3
Goggles: Con opp spell point blindness immu
Boots: Epic hard threads of falling shadow
Gloves: Epic Charged Gauntlets slotted with fear immu
Weap I: +6 glaciation of maj necro foc
Weap II: +6 magnetism of cold mastery
