    Default Bastard sword user.

K so I finally got my barbarian close to cap. I know the damage is really nice but I never plan on doing a full barb again as long as I live.lol. So I have 9 alts and this is the only one that is stjmping me for a "end game goal" on this toon. I have a healer, two verities of tanks, arcane archer, arti, rogue full assassin, bard stunner I have hopes for, cc caster, a pale master currently on sorc life, paladin currently on fighter tank life.

So I was thinking of trying the whole sentiniel dragon mark style with bastard swords but I don't want make a pure fighter tank as I already have two styles of that. So fighter 20 is out. Anyone had any good luck with some builds that use bastard swords?

What my criteria so far is:

No full barbarian(completely unable to heals elf without silver flame pots sucks)
No full fighter (tanks are nice hell I have two. Don't need a third)

    Human(obvious reasons with sentinel line)
Bastard sword user(got s couple good ones just laying around.
It's second life toon so 34 point build

Note* I understand that bastard swords are not top of the line damage. I just want to try it out without a tank build. Love to try a arti style but I can't bring myself to completely give up range feats for sentinel feats. I know the feats are going to be really tight.

I've seen an 18/2 Assassin Rogue/Fighter Splash tanking while dual wielding eFangs, with 700+ HP(that was mostly for bragging rights...so funny seeing a Rogue tank and hold aggro, more odd to see one do it well). Other than a "flavor" dps build that dual wields them, Assassin, Kensi, or Tempest, I would think that a Sword and Board tank would get the best benefit from a bastard sword. Some other options may include a melee Artificer(Runearm/Bsword) or Druid(Sword and Board)(although I think the popular, and higher dps choice for Druid, is caster).

    Hope that helps...

Human Tempest, strength based dual wielding Basties are a gas. (Human for the free feat to slot exotic weapon)

Drawback, you have to take every spec available for over-sized, weapon specialization imp crit etc..

    And a Bloodstone really helps

I made mine pure builds with Tempest III, and the Kilua's ToD set. People have expressed opinions about Tempest III not being worthwhile, I find that it is still decent if the toon is solely focused on dual wielding basties.

*Before the big TWF nerf, the build was top-notch, Today it's a good solid build, with decent self-heal capabilities. But the point is, it's a blast to play.*

I just capped a 18/2 pally/ftr with full marks and got an efang. The damage is just moderate. But the hate is high. I don't know that I would use it on a non-tank. But, if you're doing it for fun, consider a 18/2 (lol i know) Pally/ftr or Pally/Mnk. But 2 +10 weapons would be kinda neato.

    Feats:
    Human- Toughness
    f/m1- cleave
    f/m2- g. cleave
    twf*3
    Imp crit
    PA
    Dragon mark 1
    Dragon mark 2
    e1. dragon mark 3
    e2. O. crit.

I had the cleaves while leveling b4 I respecced out of cleaves and into dragon marks. The cleaves are great for ripping through trash. Playing a pally and spamming divine sac, 2 cleaves, smites, and the short-term buffs feels like playing a piano. But if played right, this build would be pretty hot in full LD destiny.

    34 point build:

    16 str (10pts)
14 dex (8pts) (need +3 tome for twf line, OR drop con to 12?)
    15 con (8 pts)
    8 int
    8 wis (2 pts)
    14 Cha (6 points--can get divine might 3 with a +4 tome)

    Just one idea.

EDIT: Upon further thought, the tempest might be a better choice overall.

Seems like the main drawback to using eFang on a non-tank is all the extra aggro you'd draw. But if this is a just-for-fun life, I've been experimenting with melee+ranged artificers lately; probably gimping myself for epics, but that's what LRs are there to fix.

I was just playing around with that yesterday too. I tried a Human Arty6 Battle Engineer /Fighter 14 Kensai II.

Looks okay on paper for Heroic stuff at least, especially solo. Not sure how well he'd group.

I wonder how well chooing "Construct Essence" will work to enable some self-healing and also spending some AP for human healing amp to undo the penalty on healing spells?

Tempest III, fully spec'ed for basties Dual wielding E-Fangs w/ Tempest ToD set for the win.

Aggro? simple premise, go big or stay on the porch with the puppies.

For people that have run with Recap know how effective this build is. Nuf said.
