Default Light Armor for Levels 14 to 18 ?

    Hi,

    I've a first-time/life bard 18 with Parasitic Breastplate as armor, http://ddowiki.com/page/Item:Parasitic_Breastplate.
Imo, it's a very powerful object for a ML 14, with armor bonus +16 and dex max 9.
It has also Rough hide +3 and Diehard.
His disadvantages rarely occurs and are not so painful.

So, does it exist a better armor before the epics ones ?
I see the armor from HoX (Breastplate of Destruction), but the LFM to do it are rares.

Have you a advice for me, plz ?

Personally, I am quite fond of the dragon scales armors (black, blue, white) from gianthold. From a pure AC perspective though, I think the rhakshasa hide from the lords of dust chain is also very good.

You can upgrade the Parasitic Breatsplate with either 10 reflex or displacement proc

From an AC standpoint, this got left behind when MOTU came out. You can probably find some random lootgen armor that is just as good. Now the ability to add an upgrade does set it apart. I like the displacement guard.

Actually, this is incorrect. 16 AC on a ML14 light armor is very decent. As for random lootgen, you'd need AML22 Celestial Chainmail for that.

And Breastplate of Destruction indeed seems the be the only non-epic light armor that offers higher armor bonus.

Stick with the Parasitic Breastplate. Upgrade it. Personally, I like the dancing guard, but that's just because I get a kick out of seeing the different bad guys randomly start dancing. Especially bears.

Displacement Guard on a bard seems redundant; if you don't need the +10 Reflex save, how often does Melodic Guard or Paranoia proc?

    Default Craft both

I'd personally go for melodic guard first as it thematically is appropriate and does mitigate some damage.

Collect the materials (they're rather cheap and easy to find) again and do the reflex one. It doesn't stack with a resistance item but it's a pretty significant boost for places when you need it (Enter the Kobold, etc).
