    Default Clean Up Loot Tables

I think there are a few things in the loot tables that no one uses, for one reason or another.

    -Some 'light' weapons

    -'Masterwork' property

    -'Maiming' property

Those are the ones that I think are the most useless. Please take them out of the loot tables so that other things have a better chance to drop, or replace them with something better.

i agree with your views on maiming and masterwork, however all of the simple weapons are viable options for casters to use. Would however like to stop seeing +2 combustion scimitars of fire lore, or other combos on weapons typically used by melees.

Those caster sticks are replacing a dagger with the same stats, not a scimitar with melee stats. The only caster sticks that are useless are two-handers - a wizard can use that scimitar as well as they could use a dagger and it gives some variety.

    The real rubbish affixes are:

    - Tactics bonuses that are way below the maximum
    - Maiming
    - Steam
    - Vorpal
    - Spellpoints on bows

and there's probably others but those stand out.
    I don't have a zerging problem.

    I'm zerging. That's YOUR problem.

Is there a post that details how little or how much DPS is provided by maiming/steam/vorpal relative to other mods?

I think FeatherofSun has been clever insofar as combining some mods into higher level mods. Something that combines vorpal and keen, for instance, might be nice for blunt or pierce weapon users needing to switch to a different damage type.

Steam is 2d8 untyped, but isn't a 100% proc. If it was a 100% proc, it would be useful.

Vorpal is still useful if you don't have a high DPS class, like a bard spellsinger, and need to clear CCed trash that isn't vulnerable to Banishment, Disruption or Smiting (since those also deal 4d6 dmage per hit). High DPS characters usually kill any mob with less than 1k HP too fast to really make the vorpal matters. Against bosses and mobs with over 1k HP, Vorpal is equivalent to 5 damage per hit (100 damage on a natural 20).

Maiming is totally overshadowed by Ribcracker/Heartseeker/Bloodletting, even on their lesser versions on a x2 weapon. Don't need much math to see that 5d6 from a lesser ribcracker is better than 1d6 from maiming.

I want DDO to be a better game. Those are my personal suggestions on: Ammunition, Archmage, Combat Stances, Deities, Dispel Magic, Epic Destiny Map, Fast Healing, Favor, Favored Enemy, Half-elf Enhancements, Monk Kensai, Monk Stances, Past Life, Potency, Potions, Ranger Spells, Summons, Tiered Loot.

Why not remove anything that nobody would actually make, which is 99% of all random loot? No high level mage is going to waste resources on holy of smiting, or ghost touch of elf bane, or roaring of tendon slice 2%, or cursespewing of undead bane, or 99% of other **** that actually drops in chests and 85% of named items.

I think this is really a game economy issue. In a PnP campaign you'd get only the loot the GM gives you, and it may be pretty thin. In a monty haul online game the only way to keep the power even remotely in check is to make 99% of loot junk. You can still vendor it, so it's not a total waste, but it doesn't immediately take all characters to top loot levels either.

Holy of Smiting is an awesome weapon for at least 2 still-run raids: Shroud and LoB.

I would like to say, that for some people (me at least) non-standard caster weapons (non daggers, non scepters etc) are better than simple weapons, simply because:
    1. They look better
    2. They are easier to find on hotbars
