Glaciation addons as described here seem like a slot saver, no longer a ML breaker.

Right now WF have minimal options for glaciation 90 at possible level 15 (Cannith Challenges + Masterful Craft) like fleshies do, and I have 2 WF casters who would really appreciate a viable option (but I understand the need to counterbalance and still keep "of the Glacier" items attractive)

Do note that, before, adding Superior Glaciation VIII to an ml 3 item was pointless because you can't cast lvl8 spells at that level. It was only ever good for not having to find a new item every time you gained two caster levels.

running around at level 3 with glaciation sp 90 doesnt make sense imo...

I think glaciation adding ml makes perfect sense

Can we get an 8 level reduction on the Glaciation effect?

We used to get a 50% bonus to L1 spells and it would be nice to keep that. So having the 54 spell power bonus at L1 would be the equivalent now.

And having 120 at L17 wouldnt be that overpowered.

u just keep asking for more and more.. this is almost greedy.. whats the fun in doin a damage equal to several times the HP of the enemy, with a spellpower so huge for the level? maybe they can add a ML 1 oldschool vorpal weapon too, that would be awesome...

Quoting for emphasis. This is the critical point that is being missed. Superior
Glaciation had an inbuilt power limiter. Spellpower has no such limit in
    applicability.

It's true, the conversion from the old system to SP broke a LOT of items. This one is broken in favor of the players so its not so surprising it will be fixed.

Now if they would fix some of the items broken in the other way I'd be happy....

    Default risia glaciation min level

ouch so that hurt. spent hours grinding for maxxing a glaciation item last year. After remaking this item in 2013 it was a shock to find out that the ML is raised so I can't use it yet. Is that mentioned anywhere in game? That's disappointing that I should need to read irl forum posts to find out this pretty significant change. As it turns out I feel like I wasted my time on making an item I won't even use.
If matching random lootgen power is the issue, at least remove the ML on them item but instead cap the max spell power you can benefit from an item for each level. As it stands, the value of the Risia festival glaciation now is disproportionately low compared to the effort people had and are putting in.

Needless to say, this really ****ed me off.

In other words, if you find a randomly-generated weapon in treasure that has Spell Power on it, it will have the amount of Spell Power listed below that matches it's Minimum Level.

    30 Spell Power - No Minimum Level/Minimum Level 1
    36 Spell Power - Minimum Level 2
    42 Spell Power - Minimum Level 4
    48 Spell Power - Minimum Level 6
    54 Spell Power - Minimum Level 8
    60 Spell Power - Minimum Level 10
    66 Spell Power - Minimum Level 12
    72 Spell Power - Minimum Level 14
    78 Spell Power - Minimum Level 16
    84 Spell Power - Minimum Level 18
    90 Spell Power - Minimum Level 20
    96 Spell Power - Minimum Level 21
    102 Spell Power - Minimum Level 22
    108 Spell Power - Minimum Level 23
    114 Spell Power - Minimum Level 24
    120 Spell Power - Minimum Level 25

What does that mean for Festival Glaciation recipes?
Answer: They will only affect my item's level if I place a higher amount of Spell Power than is normally found in random treasure on an item of that level.

Example: I have a Min Level 14 Combustion scepter. Because it's a Min Level 14 item, it has 72 Fire Spell Power.
I can add all the Festival Glaciation up to 72 Cold Spell Power without changing my scepter's level. If I increase it further to 78, the item's level raises to 16.

Since this matches what you all are used to seeing in treasure throughout the game, it shouldn't be very different or unusual. Hope this helps clarify things.

Last night i took an ML 16 scepter which had magnetism 78 and greater ice lore and put the full glaciation 78 recipes on it. It's still ML 16 so i felt i maximized the potential of the glaciation recipes. Now i need to make another one that he can actually use because he is only level 9.
