When I log into DDO it loads all the way to the character selection screen without any issues. Once I select a character and the loading screen happens as soon as it finishes loading (the blue bar at the bottom is all they way full) I get an error message "dndclient has stopped working"
This started happening rather suddenly a couple of weeks ago and only happens on my Windows 7 machine, it works fine on my older windows vista machine. I have attempted uninstalling and reinstalling the software twice, including a full download again. I have attempted the instructions from support.turbine.com (http://support.turbine.com/link/port...ped-responding) twice and that did not work.
Please help

I am by no means the best person to answer this question, but I have seen some issues happen especially with regard to video and video drivers - have you tried repairing the graphics and game settings from the drop down menu in the upper right corner of the launcher?
I'm not sure this will help, but its something easy you can try fast.

Try the easiest first thing: re-install the drivers of your grafic card.
