What exactly are these other benefits?

I know about wings and more SP. I know about the FVS Capstone.

Clerics can get wings from Exhalted Angel. Aura and Burst make up for fewer SP.

I don't see the benefit of FVS over Cleric, but I'm willing to learn.

IMO, A good Cleric Aura is the primary difference that pushes Cleric ahead of FVS for me.

only at heroic lvls, because you get damage augmentation (to force, fire and light), archon and more sp

at epic lvl only the sp reamins useful, but the capstone sucks so you'll have to splash to monk if wanna get +2 wis for free (for implosion as example, but im thinking mainly in necro spells XD)

a clr well used is far far better than a fvs, fvs get more numbers (hp/sp/aura when you are melee) that it's useful to solo

in all other aspects fvs is weaker than clr, only because the aura, number of spells and hey! 17 clr lvl gives you 2 lvl 9 spells!!

favored soul should be called flavoured soul, or big numbers toon, like someone said, power w/o control is useless

FvS is harder to play but does more damage. Archon, aura, Angel of Vengeance procs, better saves... It all adds up.

Cleric is so much easier to play that I can easily see people liking it better. Juggling clickies, spells, melee feats, destiny abilities, attacking and healing can be tiresome. Battleclerics hold the mouse button and toss a burst every now and then.

FvS vs. Cleric = More Mana-HP-Resistance vs. Spell Adaptability.

I will assume you are going to splash-so either Capstone does not effect your decision.

It all depends on play style...but I have always said in most cases...I can use a Wand or a Scroll when I can't cast something and play a FvS (Spell Adaptability)...Hard to substitute the benefits of a FvS on a Cleric (i.e. Mana-HP).

The one variable where Race becomes a question is gear-Halflings have less ability to carry items so stocking up on all the stuff that I would carry for my FvS may impede you to a slight degree.
