Default Can this game be played off a portable drive?

i have recently been spending more time at the 'office' than not. Unfortunately the computers I am able to use are locked down and secured from downloading stuff to them and a couple people use the same computers. is there a way to 'install' this game onto a portable hard drive and USB it onto my work computer to play in the game?

The computers kinda succk so Im not expecting to be able to run quests but would be happy enough to just be able to perform character maintenance and surf the AH.

If its possible, I would also appreciate recommendations on types of drives as well. Does it need to be a certain speed, size, or powered by AC. thanks in advance.

Also would need to know if there are any specific instructions on getting the game on the drive and using it to play, ie, any download instructions, file changes, boot sectors, etc

Its not how you play the game but if you're gonna play the game to win!

yes it's possible to run the game from an external drive.

Any device that has enough room to house the game directory will do.

    And the best :

just copy your DDO Directory from your home computer on the external drive and you're ( almost ) ready.

You can also copy the launcher shortcut from the menu, though in your case it might be better to open the external drive in an explorer and start the launcher directly.

Note : using DDO will also create a Dungeons and Dragons Online directory in your home directory ( My Documents or Documents depending on your Windows version ).

You also might want to take your keymap along. Maybe include the following from your documents folder, subfolder Dungeons and Dragons Online:

    ddo.keymap

    and if present
    aliases.txt
