    Default Mouse issues

Hello! My mouse has been acting up for a couple of months. It simply turns off after a while in DDO - and only in DDO. If I pull it out and plug it back in, it starts working and then shuts off in a few minutes.

I have no idea what's going on

    Default another mouse

I just plugged in another mouse - it worked for years and no longer functions.

When I first used it, it was fine. But when I plugged it in after DDO was working, the same problem as before happened. It worked, then stopped, then started over and over, with messages "detected new device."

Again, this problem only happened with DDO. Now the mouse won't function in any computer - though I think that may have been the result of me pulling it out during one of the plug and play loading times.

Does anyone know what's going on here? Has anyone experienced a similar issue?

Not that I'm very technically minded just trying to be helpful, but have you tried these things:

*Made sure you have the most recent drivers for your system? It may be that updates are required to function with DDO.

*Maybe your mouse is old and you need a new one? Sometimes they can start playing up when they are used the most in certain ways.

*There is also a known bug with the mouse wheel and the camera driver where it stops zooming in and out on occasion. A restart usually fixes it. I don't think anyone know's it's cause exactly, but many players are aware of it. If it's saying it detected a new device over and over again, it may also the the socket at fault and not actually the mouse. Have you tried a different one?

    Some ideas anyway.

    Thanks Marybee

I updated the drivers for the system and tried a different mouse - the same thing happened. Worse, actually, that mouse no longer functions - I think b/c I removed it during one of the plug and play loads - it was running plug and play every 10 seconds or so. The mouse disconnected and reconnected over and over, so I just pulled it out. Now the mouse doesn't work - but my older one still does.

I used to have that bug with the mouse wheel, about a year and a half ago, but no longer. Anyways, I am sending my computer to Dell for some issues, maybe it will come back all happy and bug-free!

Is it a logitec gamer mouse? I have one, and found it only works properly if I DON'T install the drivers that came with it. With the driver installed the mouse would stop working. Without the driver, it uses whatever one Windows picked and works fine. Sure I can't reprogram the side buttons, but it works all the time.
