Today I paid $49.99 and bought 5000 points through the DDO Market
http://store.turbine.com/store/turbi...oryID.58516100
Received a receipt, confirmation email, point code etc. and applied them in game to my account. The account got credited with exactly 5000 points.
There was NO bonus applied.
I've filled out a support ticket a few hours ago and haven't received any response other than an automated one saying that if -I- didn't reply they'd consider the matter closed. I replied with some transaction details so hopefully this is being looked at.
I paid cash for points and as advertised, should be given double points during this time period.
If points bought for cash through the Market aren't subject to the same promotion as points bought for cash through the in-game store then it needs to be made explicitly clear in the advertising. If this is the case then that is phenomenally stupid.
I recently bought the expansion pack through the Market and was given the advertised discount at that time, so I have a reasonable expectation that advertisements apply to the Market as well.
If there's a difference between a "point code" purchased online and "points" purchased online then that is also phenomenally stupid. Points you paid for are points you paid for - distinct from points from favor.
I would NOT have bought points at this time if not for the current promotions. (double points and adventure pack discounts)
Not happy. Will continue playing because I enjoy the game itself and because of time and money already invested but will not continue spending if this is not resolved.
EDIT: Fine print is a hell of a thing
"The Point Bundles advertised on this page apply only to point purchases made in the DDO Store and reflect what is currently available for purchase in the DDO Store. These standard Point Bundles and pricing are subject to change."
Not sure which is more stupid - me for missing this or the policy itself. Probably me. Still not happy but I suppose nothing will come of this. Hopefully some other player will read this post and not make the same mistake that I did.
