Default Allow skillpoints to be saved (at least to a part)

I just started to create a wizard but canceled it after i found out i have to invest all 28 skill points (in two class skills from wich only one has any use, concentration) the rest have to be blasted in skills with double costs. That actually means the advantage of the many skillpoints (for multiclassing) for wizards is mostly negated.

So i suggest that at least the bonus skillpoints from intelligence can be saved to later level-ups.

No. Requiring you to plan your character isn't a bad thing.

no, learn to plan out your leveling
and if you plan on multiclassing into rogue for trapping and evasion, start with a rogue, they get way more starting skill points than wizzy

Actually this is true in PnP I fail to see why DDO doesn't allow it...I'd be fine if it was only like up to 2-3 points

I dont see what this has to do with the ability to plan the leveling. If skillpoints would be storeable beyond the level up it still would require an ability to plan the char. And in neverwinter nights its possible, wich also bases on D&D.

So what requires more skill in planning loosing all skillpoints in the present level up or have to think beyond the present levelup about the later ones?

Just because you are used with the restrictions this game forces to you and wich you accepted, doesnt mean you are smarter :P

No, you have to spend all of your skillpoints when you get them.

You can't hold skill points in PnP D&D 3.5.

I'm not seeing how this will help. You can only increase class skills 1 full point per level. So even if you save skill points you'll still end up using them in non-class skills.

No that isn't how leveling works and it shouldn't be changed

The only benefit this could possibly bring would be to a multi-class character, and it would end up quite broken indeed. Imagine taking 2 levels of rogue at level 1 and 20, saving all the extra skill points on the way, and then being able to max out just about everything when you hit level 20.

    /no thanks.
