Default unique connection issues please help

    Resolved

Ok I'm tethering my phone to my lap top away from my house. And I'm unable to connect to DDO or even log on to the forums when away. I can view the forums but cant load the log in screen. The main issue though is that I cant log on too DDO. I have logged in to other mmorpg's. Only DDO wont work for me.

Here is what happens when I launch the game it will update and go to the password and account name part. After I enter the password and account name and launch the game it sits on that screen trying to load for a wile. It tries to connect twice. It shows something like this.

1/2 then 2/2 then it fails and gives me this error

The following web error occurred while trying to access
    "https://gls-auth.ddo.com/GLS.AuthServer/Service.asmx":

The underlying connection was closed: Unable to connect to the remote server.

Trust: Firm reliance on the integrity, ability, and character of another person.
Betrayal: The Violation of trust; deliverance into the hands of an enemy.

    Trust is a weakness.

    Betrayal is the hidden blade.

The vast majority of Internet traffic is TCP, like web pages. So being able to see
    the forums is no surprise.

But a lot of internet games use UDP, and DDO is one of those. Your difficulties sound
like your tether is dropping UDP packets, or configured to block them. You need to
be able to pass the following range of UDP ports: 2900-2910, 9000-9010
If you can't see these ports, the game will be unable to connect.

So have a look at the configuration for your tether, or firewall, or both.

https is blocked? Make sure you don't have something that is blocking secure web pages somewhere. I doubt it's your cellular service blocking it but anything is possible.

Also to log onto the forums try going to http://my.ddo.com and logging in there and then visiting the forums. That works for some browsers.

Oh, good catch Ms. Ericka, when I first read the OP, I thought it said they
*could* log into the forums. (sigh) Note that this could still be a port problem,
as https is usually on a different port than regular http (it still sounds like a
firewall/NAT/port-forwarding problem to me). The big difference here is that
there should definitely be support for fixing an https connection if your tether
is a supported service. By following that through, you might discover the secret
sauce to get the game working...

My phone's app was the problem. The app I used blocked upd for some reason.
