Default Past Life & New Class Question

    Hello all:

I am posting this in the hopes of getting some insight into my current character dilemma. Currently I have two characters coming up to 20 and I don't know which one I should TR into my Caster Druid. My wizard I enjoy but I really only leveled him for the past life feat. My second is a FvS. Seeing as I prefer the second char for their name/gender how much will I miss the Wiz past life? Is the +2 spell pen going to make a big difference? Esp is stacked a few times? How hard will it be to reach a porfecient spell pen/DC point on my offensive casts TR with my FvS over my Wiz. Thanks in advance and Happy Holidays.

the only spell you'll most likely use that has an SR check is Finger of Death so if you want that to land reliably then tr your wiz but it's just one of the many cool spells druids use so your call if you want to build around 'that' specific spell. Also having wiz past lives also raises your spell DCs by 1 so that is also a plus.

No, past lives don't do this. The active past life feat "Arcane Initiate" is the one that gives +1 DC, but it can't be taken more than once, and you only need one wizard life to take it.

The stackable passive past life is +2 Spell Pen and +2 to Wand/Scroll DC.

Still, it is an option if he wants to take it. I never said it stacked nor it was passive but I should've been more clear when distinguishing past lives so sorry for any confusion

Maybe look at it from what do you gain from a Wizard PL vs FvS PL

    Wizard
    +2 Spell Penetration
+2 Wand/Scroll DC <- Doesn't seem like a lot but it can help

-If you plan the Active Feat (ML 3)
    +1 To All DCs

    Favored Soul
    +1 Spell Penetration
    20 Spell Points

-If you plan the Active Feat (ML 3)
    +2 Diplomacy
10 Avenging Light (Orb of Light SLA 1d8 + 1d8 per 3 levels) <- Works with metas and Enhancements that effect light damage

    ------------------------------------------------------
Both will get you a bonus to Spell Penetration <- Its value is only important if you plan on using a lot of spells that allow spell resistance checks

The Wand/scroll DC bonus is only useful if planning to use these tools offensively (Charm, Fireball etc)

20 Spell Points is useful to any spell casting class

The Wizard's Active Feat is good if you can squeeze it in as +1 DC to spells makes it harder to save.

I actually believe you will enjoy the Wizard to Druid TR more than the FvS to Druid TR as you will still be able to switch to your FvS which you enjoy when you feel you need a change.

Read OP carefully. He prefers his current FvS for their name/gender. TR-ing to druid will not change that.

Do a wizard life (or 3) on the FvS (or 2 more of those, too) then go druid?

the op likes playing the fvs character, then he should tr the fvs character. I would suggest maybe leveling another toon to 20 first, that way he has two at cap and can keep the pp coming in while running the tr lives. The add a wizzy life to the fvs then continue onward.
