Huge? You think Ataraxia is huge? It's one of the SMALLER explorer areas. You can check every rare and hit every explorer in 10-15 minutes.
Searing heights is ~ same size, with only 1 quest, added after the area came out as someone said, but takes closer to 30m to hit all the explorers and rares.
The explorer off the harbor (forget the name), larger than Ataraxia, and also only has 2 quests, also added after the fact quite some time later. Also takes closer to 30m to hit all the explorers and rares.
Restless Isles. Not sure if this would count as larger than Ataraxia's or not, but also only 2 quests. Plus a 2 part raid :P
I assume you're talking about Cerulean Hills when you say the explorer of the harbour.
How does it take close to 30 mins to hit all explorers and rares in Cerulea?
If you're talking about 3 Barrel {lots of quests so I doubt it} then I can do a complete slayer clearance hitting all Explorers and rares in 45-50 mins {If I was just hitting the Explorers and rares this would be halved.}.
Ataraxia - Now yes people are right in that if you're just after Explorers and Rares this is small and can be done fast...However - If you're after Slayers it's a boring pain in the neck!
I'd also say that Red Fens is smaller in area - Slayer's an even bigger Pain in the Neck!
All four Reaver's Refuge Slayers are much smaller!
Tangleroot and Sorrowdusk are smaller - and much more linear {no wandering round going back over virtually the same territory to wake up mobs.}.
Waterworks and House Cannith are smaller {House Cannith Raid Zones may as well be part of the Raids anyway}.
Amrath is about the same size.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes there are larger Slayers:
Gianthold
Sands
Vale
Orchard
King's Forest
And of course {as already mentioned} - 3 Barrel Cove
Barely touched on in DDO but begging to be expanded, the Sulatar tribe found in Searing Heights. Searing Heights cannot be the legendary Obsidian City of the Sulatar tribe. Since players slaughter a handful of these Drow in the wilderness area, I'm surprised that they haven't appeared later on in their own storyline.
Jorasco Foyer - Near the Open Palm Inn
No quests, no shops, no NPCs
I forgot all about the Jorasco Foyer. I remember House P had a similar thing when I first started the game and it became the Phiarlan Chapterhouse for Partycrashers.
Which reminds me, in the Erstwhile Emporium found in House P, there is Reckard Sorl. Reckard Sorl won't repair your items since the favor needed to get him to repair it is unachievable. He's been there for as long as I've been playing the game. And yes, the last House P favor added to the game was when Carnival was added that included the revamping of the Phiralan Chapterhouse mentioned above.
i want my rogue to be able to pickpocket....
