Default updating items at level 20

My artie currently has the Tinkerer's set and Elocator's Habiliment, which gives a lot of displacement for a 20th level artie.

But I'm thinking about doing the entire Purple Dragon armor/gloves/helm trio b/c it gives +3 to hit/dam, 9 con (and 9 str which actually will increase my AC b/c I'm carrying so many clickies) plus the Druid boots and goggles (for the insightful Dex and seeker +6 plus the Drow Piwafwi (to make up for the Tinkerer's sneak attack +5/+8).

But, wow, that displacement is super nice and keeps me alive in these epic quests. I am loathe to give it up - what do you think? (I have one GS hp item displacement clickie and was thinking of making another, too).

keep in mind the PDK armor is heavy armor, which arties do not get proficiency for.

Ah! That's the catch then. I've been wearing Full Plate of the Defender and Elocator's Habiliment without thinking about that they are medium armors.

    Cheers!

Poor us Arties. No matching suit.

    Don't give it up.

Likewise, if you're big into displacement-like effects, you might want to get a Cloak of Night from Marbar (already passed) which adds Ghostly giving you and (I believe) Ghost Touch. Ghostly and Displacement are two seperate checks, from what I've been told.

While Ghost Touch is not a big need-to-have in higher-level content, it helps in the IQ quests.

If you get 375 PDK favor you can upgrade [1] the Terrorweb Chitin Breastplate - or Stone Heart and Embrace of the Spider Queen - to the PDK set.

This. And while the PDK set bonus is nice, I personally couldn't give up my helm slot for a helm that did absolutely nothing for my Artie. The Terrorweb armor I have gives a +8 CON, so the only thing decent on the helm wasn't that great for me. Meanwhile, the gloves are awesome. I still use em.

Whisperchain not bad for a non WF Arty either.

Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated.

Not to point out the obvious but you could just use displacement scrolls...

Zradien; Evoker Searym; AA Tohmes; Elementalist Tyranitar; DPS Lohst; Tank and many others.

    Default great ideas!

Wow, Whisper Chain is perfect! Me want!

I did pick up heavy armor feat to use the purple dragon armor, swapped out Insightful Reflexes for it (only loosing 2 pts of reflex for it). It increases my damage out put by +3, which is quite nice with a repeater.

The only problem with Whisper Chain would be getting my con and str to an acceptable level - with the Purple Dragon set, I no longer suffer from encumbrance problems (so can reach max run speed and carry more) and have 20 hp more (compared to t/chain). Mind you, I could get that heavy armor feat back

So fantastic, thanks! Looking forward to the Netharese chain

Displacement scrolls - huh, ok, will buy some. I now have 2 GS displacement clickies, making my time with them just over 8 minutes.

Question: what do arties use for a belt??? I'm planning on doing a con/op belt there...what else can go there? What about a robe? I use the Mantle shaper and then swap to a Magewright cloak.

    And thanks, great suggestions

Just want to point out that Aties use scrolls, wands, clickies, etc. better than anyone else.

The capstone makes every clickie in the game extremely useful for an Arty.

Now.... if only I had more inventory space....lol.
