So you were ambivalent about the bugs you read on the forums but only got angry when the very same bugs actually affected you and am now threatening to quit?

    Err okay.

The OP might have a point about the gazillions of bugs put together and called DDO, but bringing SWTOR into the equation was a bad move. That game has nothing to offer what would make me play it over DDO, even in its bugged state.

It's handy when you are looking for an item that is within your toons level range, IE: If your toon is say 18th, you don't need to look at items that are ML25 nor do you need to look at ML1 junk. So you set search limits to like 11 - 18 and see what appeals to you.

This really only plays out when you are looking through a lot pages and want to cut out the pointless junk you would never look at anyway.

"And now I just gotta say turbine has seen their last dollar from me, I'm moving to SWTOR a game where the developers aren't constantly breaking everything, nerfing everything, or trying to make an easy cash grab."

Whow, I couldnt decide if the OP was joking or not. If this is not sarcasm then it is the most naive thing I have read in a long while.

I played SWTOR from the launch and have been following it from time to time after I quit. SWTOR is THE biggest attempt at a cashgrab in MMO history. They made a horribly inferior MMO and have ended up with a "free to play" model now that is as much of a cashgrab as the DDOStore ever was or will be.

Well I knew it at 10:00 am Est. on 12-11 as it was posted on the Launcher screen. So maybe you just missed it. Any way good luck what ever you decide to do or play.

I am sure many who have left DDO have similar feelings with lines like "Bug Ridden Trash" "Pay to Win" and all that jazz.

I get the need to bash the "other" games, and what have you, because you "quit" and need to justify that decision, but really, "Every other game out there is trash" is getting stale.

Tor is a Fine Game, like any game it is what you make of it and I am sure the OP will enjoy their game time and money in TOR as much as they enjoyed it here in DDO. Maybe more-so. But that is of course up to them.

Go read the forums of any MMO, you find the same complaints all the time about the same stuff. Lotro, GW 2, SWTOR etc, if you read their forums you would think all those games are bug ridden trash (like DDO).

Game companies are so worried about people not playing (because they no longer have subscribers with the F2P model), that they are desperate to rush out content to stay relevant. But what is happening is we are getting buggier and buggier stuff.

Except they do. As a former SWTOR player (from launch til recently) I can assure you that swtor has just as many issues :P EA has its fingers too deep into bioware now, swtor is really only good for 2 things imo: 1) class stories, and 2) leveling pvp. beyond that, I find ddo to be more entertaining, though the not getting exp for each kill does annoy the hell out of me XD

The only thing I have learned is that there seems to be a trend among sections of people who play online games to complain anything and everything they can.

I theorize it is because they believe they have an audience that cares what they have to say.

I use it all the time when I either don't want to see stuff my character can't use (because the ML on the stuff is too high) or when I am looking for epic weapons (weapons with 2[W]), and especially handwraps.

Soon afterward my guild asked me to join in TOD I reluctantly agreed because I kinda hate doing TOD on my Wizard. So we get off to a good start and then I find out fireshield doesn't work and the shadows killed me while tanking.

And now I just gotta say turbine has seen their last dollar from me, I'm moving to SWTOR a game where the developers aren't constantly breaking everything, nerfing everything, or trying to make an easy cash grab.

Seriously, you developers are completely incompotent where do you get off on making a patch that breaks more stuff than it fixes. If it can't fix the current problems without creating new ones then don't put it out its that simple, learn to do your jobs or quit them and let someone more capable do them. In any decently run game you guys would be out on the streets the second everyone saw how bad you are at your job. Anyway, Mcdonald's is probably hiring why not try working there at least when you work at Mcdonald's you know you can't make that product any worse than it already is.
I'm confused, you complain about cash grabs, and then say you are going to SWTOR, a game whose recent change to F2P is one of the most blatant cash grab attempts I have seen in a main stream MMO. For the record, when they made the shift, free and premium accounts were limited to 2 character slots per ACCOUNT, with no option to purchase more. Combine that with the all of the things you have to pay to be able to use in game, such as top tier gear, and I left that game about 15 minutes after the F2P launched, and came back to DDO.

SWTOR is fun for a short while... it's lack of replay value killed it for me as a long-range prospect, however. I also never tried their F2P option, which I hear is pretty weak.

    However:
Secret World* is now subscription-free, using the Guild Wars pay-once model. And, they dropped the base price down to $30.

Guild Wars 2* is a game I've heard a lot of good things about

Hawken just went into open beta, and is pretty fun from the little bits I've played.

Firefall is awesome, if you can snag a closed beta key.

The bugs are bumming me out, too. I've been spending more time with games like Borderlands 2, TF2, Batman: Arkham City as a result. I've not completely lost my affection for DDO... but it's wearing thinner and thinner the more the Devs here ineptly bumble about. The drop in the quality of this game has gone from being something I can good-naturedly joke about, to something that I almost feel embarrassed being a part of, even if only on the consumer-side of it.

Things break, stuff happens, ohh well lets move on. Nothing to read here but another rant demonizing the same people that try hard to bring us a fun game. I also have some concerns but lets be real, nothing is perfect and the programers and workers I am sure do the best they can with what they have. Lets give them a little credit people.

I decided to not buy one of the box deals going on for one reason. Will they hire more people or become more competent about fixing things (that are broke, not the UI of AH and pawnbroker) with my money, or not?

I don’t care what the "formite code masters" have to say either. When Turbine shows that they are more concerned with fixing the important things and not just milking a cow, then we will talk.

P.S. Just because other games are as "buggy" as this is no basis for an argument. Once I grow tired of this game I will more than likely stop playing MMO's.
