And to the group Heart as well! Rush fans thought it might never happen. Here's an interview with Geddy Lee on the subject.

When they turn the pages of history
When these days have passed long ago
Will they read of us with sadness
For the seeds that we let grow?
Three cheers for Geddy, Neil and Alex! Hurrah! Hurrah! Hurrah!
And a smaller, more subdued thanks to John and Jeff.
The newest computer can merely compound, at speed, the oldest problem in the relations between human beings, and in the end the communicator will be confronted with the old problem, of what to say and how to say it. - Edward R. Murrow (1964)
GREATNESS!!!
Rush is so extraordinary........great pioneers who went through many obstacles and prevailed.
If they had not gotten in I would have to say the R & R Hall of Fame was nothing but a sham.
I love this band...always have always will....they are a genuine example of true art.
Congrats guys! About **** time!
As a fan since jr. high (over 20 years, now :P ), it's awesome to hear that the guys have finally been acknowledged. Many fans had all but given up on the idea.
But given some of the people / bands who are actually *in* the hall of fame, as well as those who are not in it, I'm not sure how great an honor it actually is anymore. :/
But these guys have busted their asses for the last almost 40 years, making great music, inspiring the next generations, and giving us lots of great memories, so it's awesome to see them finally get the mainstream recognition they deserve.
Rock on, guys.
Hard-earned and well-deserved! Congratulations.
Once upon a time, I was part of a team, and we saved some children. That was long ago and far away, and, yes, I am that old.
Congrats to Rush! Long time coming and well deserved. They are my favorite band (thus the 2112 in my forum name).
On the other hand... come on! No Deep Purple????? What the heck??? Public Enemy??? Really??!!
It puts a smile on my face when I think back to all the times in my high school days that I really po'ed my friends playing "Freedom Of Choice" on my car's 8-track.......
But on point......congratulations to the guys! About, oh, 15 years too late (haven't they been eligible since the late '90s?- it's 25 years from the release of your first album?) but they get their plaque and the Hall regains a sliver of credibility. I'll definitely have to tune in to the induction show.
In an election, always vote for the candidate who likes big butts....because, you know, they cannot lie.
